Well… our new catch fence may be looking pretty bloody good but unfortunately, we’re not quite at the β€œsit back and admire our work” stage just yet!

We’ll be back down at the track from 9am Saturday and 9am Sunday getting everything prepared and ready for our upcoming Practice Day!

There’s still plenty to get stuck into, including:

More mesh and cable work on the gates
Getting the spectator fence back up
A bit more painting
Mowing and tidying up
General jobs around the track
and whatever else we find that needs doing!

Come down, have a laugh, lend a hand and help us get the place ready for another season of racing!

Many hands make light work, the sooner we get it done, the sooner we can go racing! 🀘🏻🏁

And we have a new catch fence. How unreal does it look. An amazing effort by the club who have pulled it off and we're able to achieve what some said would never happen.

The bulk of the work is done by like any project it the finishing off parts now.

This fence has been built to align with having a 4 star rating. But we need to complete the whole fence before we can be signed off for it.

Huge effort to everyone and thanks again for all your help.

Today is a reminder to check in on the people around you.

Speedway is more than just race cars and competition, we’re a family. We spend countless hours together at the track, in the shed, travelling to meetings and supporting each other. Sometimes, the people who seem the strongest can be the ones doing it the toughest.

A simple β€˜R U OK?’ can open the door to a conversation that could make a huge difference.

You never know what someone is quietly going through. Look out for your mates, check in on your crew, and remember that it’s okay to not be okay!

Time to get your car out of the shed and turn some laps.

Remember your car must be registered and appropriate class on your speedway Australia licence.

This will be under a speedway Australia permit.

As always spectators are free and so are crew.

Open to all classes of speedway Australia.

WORKING BEE THIS WEEKEND! 🏁

We’ll be down at the track this Saturday from 8:30am, hanging mesh on the new catch fence and getting things one step closer to being race ready!

We need all the hands we can get! The more people we have, the quicker we can get it done, so come down, lend a hand and have some good laughs while we’re at it.

This Sunday the Corowa Car club is holding their annual display and Wahgunyah Speedway is always welcomed to come and put on a display.

Anyone is welcome to attend, this is open to any Speedway car/club, you don't have to be Wahgunyah registered. It's about showcasing our sport and showing off our cars too.

Another big weekend done but another successful one by an amazing club.
Time take up doing all the small finishing up jobs but they need to be done.
The fence is all ready now with all the cables fitted over the weekend ready for the mesh to be hung.
Mowing was done to tidy up the complex.
And the painting has been done and is all but done. Just a few more bit to touch up then ready for the next stage.
Thank you to everyone who has help out over the past several weeks. It's been a huge effort and a super success.
Daylighting of cars also took place today and was a great turn out. We acknowledge that some cars are not quite ready so another one will be in place soon for them.

With the new season getting closer, we want to see how everyone’s racecars are coming along!

If we get enough interest, we’ll be holding a Daylighting Day this Sunday at the track for anyone who is keen to bring their car along and get prepared for the upcoming season!

If you’re not quite ready yet, don’t stress! If we don’t have enough cars ready to go this Sunday, we’ll organise another daylighting day at a later date so no one misses out.

Giving back is always the best feeling and today we we're able to help out another great club by providing them with our old poles that still have plenty of life in them to see the Avalon Quarter Midgets upgrade there fence where needed to continue racing with up and coming new kids to our sports.

Thanks again for reaching out and we have plenty more to come in time, for you to put to great use.

It's all happening here today. Our new 4 star rated catch fence is well underway.
Today we were able to drill, concrete and stand up the new post. With bracing off each 2nd one.
What a huge difference from the old fence which has served it purpose for many years.

A small crew today but a huge achievement to everyone that came down today and over the past few weeks.
