For the final time this year, we came together to celebrate our 2026 season at the Craigieburn Sporting Club for our annual Presentation Night!

A massive thank you to the committee for putting on an exceptional night, and a huge congratulations to all of our award recipients for their hard work, commitment and dedication throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the night such a great celebration. We can’t wait to come back bigger and better in 2027! 🖤🤍🖤

🏉 Melanie Hope – NFNL Rosbrook Gannon Medal Nomination 🏉

Melanie Hope’s 2026 season with the Wallan Women’s Football Team was one of continued growth, determination and improvement.

Throughout the season, Melanie continued to develop her game and became an increasingly important contributor on the field. Her hard work and persistence were reflected in her performances, with Melanie finishing the year as Wallan Women’s leading goal kicker — a fantastic achievement and a testament to how far she progressed throughout the season.

Her efforts have now also been recognised by the NFNL, with Melanie receiving a nomination for the Rosbrook Gannon Medal. This recognition is a wonderful achievement and highlights the impact she made on the field during the 2026 season.

Despite facing challenges throughout the year, Melanie remained passionate about her football and continued to support and encourage her teammates. She showed determination, resilience and a genuine commitment to the team, never losing sight of her love for the game.

Melanie should be incredibly proud of what she achieved this season. From the improvement shown across the year to finishing as Wallan’s leading goal kicker and earning NFNL recognition, her 2026 season is certainly one worth celebrating.

From everyone at WFNC and WJFC, Congratulations Melanie on a fantastic season and a well-deserved Rosbrook Gannon Medal nomination. The Wallan is very proud of you! 🖤🤍

4 TEAMS. 4 DREAMS. 1 CLUB. 1 COMMON GOAL. 🖤🤍

Everything we’ve worked for throughout the year has come down to this. Quarter by quarter, game by game, all four of our sides have put in the blood, sweat and tears to earn this moment.

A huge day of football and netball awaits us today at Romsey, and we are absolutely PUMPED to have Wallan represented across the day in both football and netball!

We know our players are going to give it everything they have, but we need YOUR help and support to make sure there are four premiership cups coming back to Greenhill Reserve tonight!

⏰ U19’s — 10:50am
⏰ Reserves — 12:00pm
⏰ A Grade — 1:50pm
⏰ Seniors — 2:30pm

The action starts with our 19 & Under netball at 10:50am, so let’s paint Romsey BLACK AND WHITE, be loud, be proud and to our players the whole town cheering you on so BRING IT HOME!

🏆 GRAND FINAL 2026 🏆

4 TEAMS. 1 TOWN. 1 CLUB. 1 GOAL.

All roads lead to Romsey this weekend as we prepare for the 2026 RDFNL Grand Final Day!!

Through hard work and determination, 4 Wallan teams have booked their spot for a chance at the Ultimate prize.

Starting with our Seniors. The minor premiers and one of the standouts all year, our senior boys have had to do it the hard way this finals campaign. With extraordinary grit and a never-die attitude against some quality opposition, our boys find themselves staring once again at Diggers Rest in a clash of the titans for the ultimate reward. With big names, big-time players, and a lifetime of history, this matchup is sure to be a must-see event and something that you do not want to miss. It's been 34 years since our seniors have hoisted the trophy, and this year looks to be a massive opportunity to do it once again.

After years of getting agonisingly close A-Grade has finally broke through to reach this years Grand Final! In a strong A-Grade competition this season our girls were amongst the strongest sides consistently winning games and locked in a top 2 finish . Off the back of a strong preliminary final showing vs Riddell our girls find themselves up against netball powerhouse Woodend-Hesket for a shot at this year’s premiership! In a David vs Goliath style matchup our girls will being looking to put a stop to Woodends 4th consecutive premiership and with the regular season record being 1-1 we believe it’s our girls time!

Then comes our Reserves, they have been the benchmark the whole season and With an exciting blend of youth and experience, The boys will look to do What no other Wallan Reserves team has ever done. Go Back to Back. Standing in the way of this spectacular achievement is Diggers Rest, a Talented side and team to beat over the last 10 years it will take our best but we know the boys are up for it!

Finally our 19& Under girls netball. Everywhere you look the team has amazing talent and future superstars of the club. With a fair few players aging out from last years premiership side our girls will look to go back to back with a younger but still extremely talented side. Over the past few seasons the rivalry has been building against Riddell with this year being no exception as we take them on again this weekend. Both sides finished top 2 and will take there best netball to outdo the other be we are right behind our 19s netballers and think they have what it takes to get it done!

As a club we are extremely proud to have these 4 sides in Grand Final and want to congratulate everyone involved with each of the teams for being able to get us in the position we are! This weekend is huge for our club and we can’t wait to have the whole town behind you as we hope to see all 4 flags back at the Greenhill Reserve! 🖤🤍
