Winter season closing day aka David “Bodgie “ Shaw Memorial Day was a cracker of a day with perfect weather, the course looking as good as it gets ( a big shoutout to the grounds crew for all they do👏👏👍).
With the winning team sneaking into first place on a count back - the team of Jacques De Wet, Matt Stephen’s, Dave McCarthy and Wayne Lowe played fantastic golf to have a net score of 56.5 nett.
Second place team also obviously played great golf as well with the members Brad Jamieson, Brenton Jamieson, Cooper Jamieson and Shaun Jamieson having a 56.5 nett.
Third place team also snuck into their slot ocb as well with a nett score of 58.375.

Members are advised of the passing of Trevor Darling last month .
His Memorial service is to be held Friday the 25th September at 2pm at the Skinners Family Funerals 1 Frances Tce Moonta.
Trevor was a life member who held the roles of President, Club Captain, Bar manager amongst other roles within the club . Members attending the service are asked to wear their club shirts as a mark of respect for Trevor’s achievements within the Wallaroo Golf Club and wider community.

Mid week golf at Wallaroo had 23 players out in very blustery and cold conditions, however that didn’t stop the winners from playing top quality golf.
Winner of the day Michael Williams had a cracking score of 39 points. In second place was Dave McCarthy on 38 points ocb from John Snodgrass on 38 pts. Well done fellas , great golf in testing weather.
Other good scores Greg Price 36pts, Viv Baker 35pts, Dale Miller 34pts, Ian Tobin 33pts, Stuart Bamford, Bret Sando & John Gore 32pts with Wayne Lowe on 30pts.
NTP’s Ian Tobin on No3, no one on No6, Trev March on No11.
Long Putt was collected by Bret Sando and Encouragement award to John Vorsty.
This Saturday is the winter closing day Ambrose - The David “Bodgie” Shaw Memorial Ambrose and trophy presentations after the days golf. Teams in by 11.30am please so the dispatches can get you away on time at noon.
Thanks to all who have helped the club throughout the Winter season, the volunteers are what makes this club so successful, cheers and have a great day as the weather looks to be perfect.

Saturday golf in cool , blustery to gale force winds had 27 players come to battle on the WGCourse in a stableford comp.
Winner of the day and showing his continued good form, was Terry Hanrahan with a very solid 36 points in trying conditions- well played!.
Second place overall and decided on countback was Rick Haase pipping Nick Daniel’s into third overall with 34pts apiece.
A grade winner was Bret Sando on 33pts with Jason Henderson on 31pts.
B grade winner was Aaron Day on 33pts and second place went to Grant Donovan on 32pts.
C grade winner was Dave McCarthy on 33pts ocb from Darryl Clayson on 33pts.

Wednesday golf in a light nor-wester with some sunshine, had 20 players come for the midweek stableford (visitors welcome to join if they wish).
Winner of the day was Gezza Burt ocb from John Gore in second place, with both having 37 points - well played fellas.
Third and fourth place was also decided by ocb with John Snodgrass in third from Viv Baker , with 35 points apiece.
Other scores Don Phillips, Bret Sando 32pts, Bodgie Shaw 31pts, Brenton Jamieson, John Vorsty, Andy Bruce all on 30pts.

Sunday August 23rd dawned bright and clear ! Perfect weather for the Men’s club championships.
Tee off at 9.00am saw the A grade start the day off with an all family affair of Brenton Jamieson v Brad Jamieson.
B grade went next with Ricky DePledge v Grant Donovan and in the C grade Terry Hanrahan v Viv Baker.
Am waiting on the final scores, but the results after 36 holes programmed to play resulted in the final champions.
A grade Brad defeated Brenton.
B grade Ricky defeated Grant.
C grade Terry defeated Viv.
Congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to the runners up- there is always next year!

Saturday golf in glorious spring conditions saw 34 players come out to compete in the dreaded stroke round.
Winner of the day was Michael Henderson on count back from Brad Jamieson with both with 68 net.
Third place was Brenton Jamieson with 69 on count back from Lachlan White.
A grade winner Gezza Burt with 71 net and Levi Ashton in second place with 73 net ocb from Cooper Jamieson in third and Ian Shaw in fourth place all on 73 net.
B grade winner Lachlan White on 69 net with Kym Rankin in second on 70 net.
C grade Viv Baker with 71 net and Terry Hanrahan 73 net ocb from Darryl Clasohm.
Other good scores Greg Frost, John Snodgrass, Sam Clayson on 74 net and John Gore, Dave McCarthy, Rick Haase, Don Phillips all on 75 net.

Wednesday golf drew 17 players out on a very mild day with a hint of spring around the corner.
Winner of the day with some local pin placement knowledge , was John Gore with a very good 37 points !🔥👏😁👍.
Second place went to Andy Bruce on 34 points and in third place John Vorsty on 31 points pipping Michael Henderson into fourth.
Other scores Steve Busch 30pts, Bret Sando 29pts, Dale Miller, Ian Shaw, John Snodgrass, Trevor March all on 28pts.
