Wangaratta parkrun

Well done everyone who braved the rain for our 363rd Parkrun, on our alternative course. We had an intrepid team of volunteers who supported our 39 Parkrunners and walkers. Looking for many volunteers for next week, please put your name down if available. Thanks, RD Tam

We are all set for Parkrun tomorrow on our ALTERNATE course starting from the Wangaratta Scout Hall Carpark, College St. The weather forecast suggests rain, so be prepared! Everybody welcome to join Run Director Tammy at 7.45am for the briefing before the 8am start.

Here’s a chance to VOLUNTEER! We are on our ALTERNATE course again but we still need a timekeeper, barcode scanner(s)(2); a marshall to be at the Showgrounds corner, and a photographer! If you can help please reply below, or email [email protected]. Run Director Tammy will give the briefing at the Wangaratta Scout Hall Carpark about 7.50am before the 8am start. Hopefully in another week or so the river might be low enough for us to return to our normal course from Apex Park but please check Facebook

The foggy start to the morning promised a great day with an even better start to the day by those who attended Wangaratta parkrun.

Today we used our “alternate” course again. We had 93 participants on a mild cloudy winter (but Spring not far away) morning. Visitors came from Rosebud, Euroa and Queensland. We had at least one first timer and volunteer.

Next week 29th August we will almost certainly still be using our “alternate” course. Check Facebook later in the week for confirmation.

ALTERNATE COURSE this Saturday 15th August, starting from the river path close to the Wangaratta Scout Hall, and the journey is twice to the Showgrounds corner. The river has subsided gently from “major flood “level.
We need a few more volunteers please to join those already on the roster. Critically we need a barcode scanner, timekeeper, and someone to hand out finish tokens, as well as a parkwalker, If you can help please reply below.
