Ahoy Radio Controlled yacht sailors and followers, Sailing this Sunday 27th of Semptember.

It will be a pre spring training races.

DF65s at 10am and the DF95s at 1pm.

Sailing from Wangi RSL jetty.

Weather is not overly good with increasing chances of showers and the wind offshore from the south at 15knots.

So see you there.

DF95 New South Wales State Titles Report.

On the weekend the state titles were held at Stockton with hosts, Port Hunter Sailing Club.

The weather was next level good, with a sunny day, cool temperatures and a fresh breeze.

28 sailors were in competition and was run an ‘A fleet’ and a ‘B fleet’ .

The last 4 sailors from A fleet were dropped to B fleet and first 4 sailor in B fleet going to A fleet and so this progressed over the weekend to get a final score.

WE had a crew of 6 represent our club. Lake Macquarie West Radio Sailing Club, a fleet of Wangi Amateur Sailing Club.

The day flowed nicely and for a time I was going from 1 fleet to the other so bonus racing and this happened to most sailors.

Wind started strong then backed off to A rig conditions… good sailing.

The Sunday had the same strength wind from the northwest.

So good times.. 16 heats sailed and results tallied.

The race officer Phil Page conducted the weekend well, he called it as he saw it, 2 or 3 general recalls, so I thought the sailors sailed somewhat clean,
‘ I did have someone tack into me,’ but forced thru ok, not a disaster, as some others messed up bad and entanglements between yachts were seen. One mass had 3 yachts. there were penalties given and taken.

Our sailors sailed well. Best was Scott Davis with a 2nd, tho just on his heels was Mark Jackson who came in 4th. Then Daryl Ball 12th with Lisa Jackson 13th. I came in 18th and Garry Wardley 25th.

So a successful weekend was had. Well done sailors and well done Port Hunter R C sailing club.

Well done to the Wangi DF95 sailors sailing in the State Titles held over this weekend at Stockton 16Ft Sailing Club.

In particular, congratulations to Scott Davis who finished 2nd and Mark Jackson who finished 4th. Other Wangi sailors who competed were Daryl Ball (12th), Lisa Jackson (13th), Wayne Bryant (18th) & Garry Wardley (25th).

DF65s start at 10am and the DF95s start at 1pm.

We will have 6 events.

Spring, Summer and Winter for the DF65 and DF95.

We will sail the Spring and Summer point scores

5pm Wednesdays for the DF95s ( Dragonflite 95)

And we will sail Thursdays at 5pm for the DF65s (Dragon force 65).

Winter program will run every 2nd Sunday for both classes.
