Our Story
After purchasing AquaStars in 2017, our owner Belynda has grown the business to what you see today. Belynda was a police officer in Sydney before moving back her family back to Newcastle so she could have the support of her extended family whilst raising her two young boys and purchased AquaStars after they had completed a Swim Survival program in Sydney. We specialise in swimming lessons for babies through to adults and focus on giving children the skills they need to be able to save themselves. Children under 5 are over represented in fatal drowning statistics world wide, but we can change this. We are the only swim school on the north coast of NSW that has Swim Survival lessons for children as young as 6 months old. In this intense one on one program, we teach your child to save themselves in a matter of weeks, rather than the years that traditional lessons can take. We then work with your child in our specially designed program to gain the skills to master their strokes. Traditional lessons, begin with water familiarisation (parent/child lessons) and progress all the way up to stroke correction. These lessons are what we call traditional lessons and can be taught in both a Group or Private setting. We were also the first facility in northern NSW to conduct Acquapole. Acquapole uses specially designed equipment to get a whole body workout without the impact. Gone are the days of Aqua Aerobics, Aqua Fitness is changing and we are changing with it. We offer a number of different programs which can help you, no matter what shape you are in.
