This week, I’ll be bringing a little piece of the wild back to the mat with me.
During our recent stay at the remote Binghi Station, I experienced a kind of silence that felt almost complete.
Far from the hum of everyday life, surrounded by nothing but open space, rock, earth and sky, there was a stillness that seemed to reach much deeper than simply the absence of sound.
It felt sacred.
I practiced my yoga on the ledges of a dry waterfall. There was no studio, no music, no distractions — just the quiet presence of the landscape beneath me and the vastness surrounding me.
And in that space, my practice became less about doing and more about listening.
Listening to the breath.
Listening to the body.
Listening to the stillness.
It reminded me that sometimes we don't need to go anywhere extraordinary to experience that same sense of connection. We simply need to become quiet enough to notice what is already here.
