It wasn’t to be today, but that’s ok.

What a year this group has had. We’ve been absolutely outstanding and come such a long way, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way our kids have gone about it. Hold your heads high, you’ve given us plenty to be proud of.

🦁 SATURDAY SIGNINGS 🦁

Another Saturday, another three Lions locked in for 2027.

Mitch had an injury interrupted start to the year in his new colours, but once back on the park he showed his versatility and ability to play a number of roles.

Paddy has already been getting a taste of senior football over the past two seasons and is one of our U18 captains. An exciting midfielder who can win it inside or outside and hurt you on the scoreboard. He’s kicked 13 goals from 11 U18 games this season, along with another 5 in 7 senior games.

Luke also had some injury interruptions but showed some really good form when on the park. His ability to play multiple positions makes him a valuable piece for our group.

Three more Lions locked in for 2027.

PRELIMINARY FINAL DAY 🦁

Only hours to go until our U13.5 footballers take on the Warriors with a spot in the Grand Final up for grabs.

We’ve shown this season that previous results mean very little when it comes to finals. Today is a fresh start. Both teams go in at 0–0.

Whatever happens, we’re incredibly proud of how far this young group has come. They’ve worked hard, stuck together and earned their spot here.

Their drive through bottle shop boasts one of the biggest ranges around, while the bistro and front bar provide a great place to catch up, grab a meal and watch the footy. There’s also TAB facilities and private parking for added convenience.

These boys have a Grand Final to win, but it is exciting to see three more of our graduating Under 18s commit to the Den for 2027.

Jake Struth has been a leader of our Under 18s over the past couple of seasons. Composed, agile and dependable, Jake has continued to develop his game and is ready to take the next step into senior football.

Ace is the ultimate team mate and a great club person. He brings plenty of energy, commitment and a genuine team first attitude to everything he does. The kind of player every club wants in their ranks.

Isaac is another exciting prospect. In his first year at the Den, he got a taste of senior football in Round 6 and has been a consistent star for our Under 18s throughout the season. His development has been terrific to watch and there’s plenty more to come.

These three further bolster an exciting wave of juniors coming through into our senior ranks, building on the foundations already in place and helping shape the next chapter of South Rovers.

The future is looking pretty exciting. 🦁

Dylan’s season was terrific, leading from the front and showing his class week after week.

His consistency and leadership were rewarded with a fantastic 3rd place finish in the JA Easm Medal.

A well deserved recognition of a terrific season. Well done Dyl!

2026 TEAM OF THE YEAR

Well done to these three boys, Liam Bishop (BP), Jayden Watson (FP) and Dylan McCutcheon (MID), on being named in the 2026 Team of the Year.

All three have brought incredible leadership to our group throughout the season, so we’re certainly not surprised to see them recognised.

True leaders both on and off the field, and this honour is a great reflection of the season they’ve each put together.

Well done boys, a fantastic achievement and a testament to your 2026 seasons.

Being voted MVP by your peers is one of the biggest recognitions you can receive, and it speaks volumes about the respect Georgia has earned across the league.

A true leader of our club, Georgia has consistently set the standard on and off the court, and these honours are a fantastic reward for an outstanding season.

To top it off with Team of the Year honours shows just how highly regarded Georgia is as a player by those she competes against every week.

Our A Reserve netballers have been recognised with the Best Club Award, a fantastic reflection of the way they play the game and represent South Rovers.

They play fair, respect their opponents and officials, and always compete in the true spirit of the game.

We’re lucky to have such a great bunch of girls representing our club. A well deserved recognition of the way they carry themselves both on and off the court.
