No matter how busy your day is; always make time to move and stretch. Try forward flexion, lateral flexion, extension and rotation. Move in a range that takes you to your limit but not beyond and into sharp pain. Your body and your mind will thank you for it. 💛💙

Anybody who truly knows me knows that this a true representation of me 🤭 I don't settle into yoga well, and meditation is a complete write off! My mind is way too busy and zippy. BUT I can calm my mind during a Pilates class, and if you're like me perhaps you can too. Focus on your breath, your instructor's voice and the feeling of the exercises in your body; before you know it you will be connected mind and body and everything else will have taken a back seat. 💛💙
Dart: a simple back extension.
✅️ Lead from your breast bone.
❎️ Don't pinch your shoulder blades.
✅️ Reach for your heels.
❎️ Don't dump into your lower back.
✅️ Breathe in to lift and use abdominals for support.

I just love the old photos of Joseph Pilates demonstrating his matwork contrology exercises. There's quite a few of the more challenging ones here. How many can you recognise? 💛💙
Now that's a dead bug!! The addition of a fitball to dead bugs is so much fun. More ab work. More concentration. Balancing skills. Real circus stuff 😜 PS - never trust a Pilates instructor who says 'this is fun' 🤣 💛💙
