Round 11 of the 2026 AFL Masters SA Season.
After being exited from the home ground due to the Juniors having more importance than the bar tab, our stampede took to the road to take on the new crew in the league Trinity Old Scholars Football Club who are yet to get their own Masters Group socials page at the Pooraka Superules AFL Masters Football Club on Lindblom Oval on a day with enough sun to improve the tan. Even the coach was looking for sunscreen!

Within the new change rooms, our youthful Brumbys had some time to get prepared to take on the new kids on the block, with some encouraging banter and a positive outlook on the task at hand.

Whilst the sunshine was out it seemed more like a great time to be one with nature and enjoy the few lofty clouds amongst the bright blue sky before getting into game mode.

As one of the toughest games this season, there wasn't many Brumbys coming out unscathed after the most physical game of this year, they were fast, demanding and well drilled crew, but we certainly had control for the duration of the day even though they were certainly very quick on the their feet.

Seaton Hotel award winners were Jimmy and Ben Ortmann for their pace and attack on the ball and putting in such an extreme effort to contend with the opposition.

Palais Hotel awards went to the relentless attack of Gav who even managed to find himself lost in the forward 50 only to be pounced on by half a dozen enthusiastic opponents, and Scott Baldock for his constant work rate causing chaos at ground level.

Our new gun ruckman and birthday boy Daniel Mattiazzo took pleasure in acquiring a bottle of Kilikanoon Wines and Wil Lee has now created his own Rusden Wines Cellar Door outside the Barossa after being able to get loose on several occassions and leaving the Trinity Boys mumbling under the breath.

Other highlights was the oppositions award a bottle from Kilikanoon Wines which was unamiously provided to Steve Breavington from Trinity Old Scholars Football Club who did a great job on the day, chased hard and didn't give up and his work rate second and third efforts were noted by the West Officials.

The opposition again saw a lot of value in the efforts of and Wil Lee awarded him another bottle from their sponsor to round off the presentations.

And of Course to round out the day our special mention and the award for the hat was the birthday boy himself Daniel Mattiazzo who after a wonderful day at the office and front centre to the cameraman had a falcon and ball bounce off him and lost it in the sun, just one of those things you should never attempt in front of the bench big fella!

Other mentions on the day were the new bloke Stubbsy who has found a home in defence and harrassed many and they felt his prescence doing a great job, Matt Saunders with some great contested marking and covering the ground like a gazelle, and even Andrew William Spence for the classic fell in my lap moment in the goal square.
