Our Brumbys took on the Henley Sharks Over35s for the 6th round of 2026 AFL Masters SA Season on their home deck Shark Park after a few other games and considering the volume of rain the ground had manage to maintain some dignity except of the patch covering the pitch in the centre that brought back memories of a black abyss that changed the colour of the footy and quite a few of the players guernseys.
Prior to the bounce Henley Legend Brad Rainsford Boomer announced the importance of health after one of their players this week had suffered a heart scare and reminded us all to take notice of our health as without our mates there is no footy.
With a couple of fresh faces and the opposition running light the game flowed with some great highlights including some inspirational moments from the Coach Steve N Anna Mattiazzo in front of the bench which flaunted his skills as if boasting and was rewarded with the hat for his effort. Phil the Umpire, rolling solo did an amazing job and kept composure and made sure the game was played in the proper AFL Masters National spirit and camaraderie. Even with Raccoon and Brownies antics competing against each other and rewarding kicks to the right person (Must have been too far to see?😂)
Awards for the day included Mark Cant with bottle of Rusden Wines finest and for taking on Derek Morrison Mozz's role while he was off on some island sabbatical.
Lucas Brown picked up a bottle from Kilikanoon Wines for his ability to action put a few through the big sticks and terrorising his opponents. Seaton Hotel vouchers went to Scott Baldock and Matt Tuohy for getting the job done in very soft conditions. Earning the Palais Hotel vouchers for being the most filthy on the evening were Gav O'Reilly and Wil Lee with relentless drive even rolling through the black abyss like it was effortless.
Standing out again for his performance the oppostion added another bottle to Wil's cellar and the Kilikanoon Wines opposition award went to #4 Lucius "Luke" Thaller who also strolled around the conditions with ease.
