🪴National Biosecurity Week 2026 – Protecting what we value
Local Governments play a key role in protecting our environment and agricultural industries through initiatives such as w**d control, pest management, and combatting threats like the Polyphagous shot-hole borer and H5 bird flu.
Through coordinated action, shared responsibility, and timely response across all levels of government, industry and the community, we all work together to protect Australia's unique environment.

Yesterday, the Cities of Cockburn, Kwinana and Rockingham hosted a joint H5 Bird Flu Recovery Exercise, bringing together Local Government officers, State Government agencies, wildlife carers, WALGA and other partners to workshop response and recovery planning.
The exercise provided an opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships and continue a coordinated response to H5 Bird Flu.
