Not because we're losing our shots already. Because this season we're proudly unveiling our brand-new red uniform as we celebrate 160 years of the City of Melbourne Bowls Club.

After 160 years of friendships, fierce competition, memorable characters, and countless bowls rolled down our greens, we're kicking off a new season in style.

Opening of the Green 2026/2027 - The launching of our anniversary season, showing off our fresh new look, and getting back to what's important: great bowls, great company, and passionate debates about.....

Whether you're a seasoned bowler or thinking about giving it a go, there's never been a better time to be part of the Club.

Well…we've all done something like this but what a bloody good kid

On the weekend, one of our pennant flags mysteriously disappeared.
We assumed it was gone forever.
Then, completely unexpectedly, a package arrived in the mail…EXPRESS POST

Inside was our flag — carefully returned — along with the cutest apology letter from its mystery thief.
Apparently the guilt got the better of them!
We’re not mad. In fact, we’re slightly impressed by the honesty, the effort and, most importantly, the safe return of our beloved pennant.
Whoever you are… apology accepted.
(And a follow up call ensuring that we got it. Bless)

Today we're not just celebrating a birthday.

We're celebrating 160 years of rolling bowls, raising glasses, sharing stories, making friends, and proving that good company never goes out of style.

Since 1866, Marvelous Melbourne has changed so much

Today we honour everyone who has been part of our story: The founders who got the ball rolling. The volunteers who kept it rolling. The members who continue to roll it today. The bloody amazing staff who are on a roll. And the friends and community who make this place special....

At 160 years young, we're not slowing down.

We're still making friends, supporting our community, welcoming new faces, and showing Melbourne that a bowls Club can be so much more than a place to play bowls.

Here's to our past, our present, and the next chapter of this wonderful club.

Well, well, well… look who’s been keeping a few secrets!

Our very own Lou has officially entered the world of advertising — starring in a w**e ad + making an appearance in a pasta commercial.

From bowls to bottles + pasta… is there anything this man can’t do?!

We’re absolutely loving his celebrity status. He’s charming, he’s a natural in front of the camera, and clearly the advertising world has discovered what we’ve known all along — he’s a star!

We’ll be expecting autographs at the Club from now on.

Things are begining to look a little different around CoMBC.

What's been happening at the Club? Only a little bit of everything!

Our synthetic green has been laser-levelled, receiving the full spa treatment and rolled ahead of the Pennant season, delivering a smoother, truer playing surface and looking better than ever. Meanwhile, our grass green is moments away from being stripped right back, and we are going lawn bowls deep- undergoing a complete rebuild from the ground up.

The transformation will be remarkable, and we're excited to see champions enjoying the results for years to come!

One of the best things about our Club is discovering the hidden talents within our community. This Sunday we're excited to showcase one of those talents as our incredible Bartender- Liam takes centre stage with his guitar. Well, maybe not centre stage but so very very close.... While many know him from behind the bar, fewer know that he's also an accomplished musician and performs regularly as part of a band. Come down from 2pm, support local talent, and enjoy a great afternoon of live music from someone who helps make our Club such a welcoming place.
