All Canola Classic 52km (600 metres of elevation) and Søciety 93km (1200m) riders will be in the draw to win one of two Cycliq Fly6 Pro bike camera/light kits worth $549 each!

We've also lined up two bike services from Vault Cycle Services.

Winners will be randomly drawn at noon on Sunday in the Canola Classic Event Village.

NB: There will be no on-day registrations so MIDNIGHT TONIGHT is a hard deadline to be there for a fondo you won't forget in a hurry! 😀

Weather forecast is cool in the morning but warming to a max of 18°C with cloudy patches, light winds and no rain. Compared to last year's downpour, we're calling those champagne riding conditions! 🥂⛅🚴

Shire of York Winners Bars

Canola Classic 2026 - WestCycle Just an hour from Perth, the Canola Classic rides through in-bloom canola fields in the stunning Shire of York over 57km or 98km loops.

Backroads Gravel truly was a mud fest. I know you've all been home for a while now and you've got the mud out of your shoes and your necks but please be careful of what hides inside your frame. You may have made it clean on the outside but that's only the beginning. If your bike got you to the end it deserves some love.

The first and the last time I get to do a custom build in the kitchen! Thanks, family, for my unexpected present!

When cycling consumes your life, and you still smile constantly. Simon flew a very long way for new brake pads. While he's here, he's going to compete in SEVEN Gravel Race. Goodluck mate.

Spent some time on the SEVEN Gravel Race course this morning. Make sure you take time from staring at your handlebars to look at the view!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at SEVEN Gravel Race next weekend! Will be available all day on Friday at the event village, at the start line and on course at Luana Cottage during the race, and also on Thursday as needed (don't hesitate to call). The van is loaded with any and all spares you can think of! Hopefully your bikes are race prepped and ready to go. If so, come and have a chat! I've been the official event mechanic since Seven's inception in 2018 and watched the event grow from 230 competitors to over 2,000 competitors this year. I'm really excited to be part of such an amazing event!

It’s been a long time between posts and you may have been wondering what’s going on at Vault Cycle Services. The truth is we’ve been too busy attending races and servicing customers to spend a lot of time on social media. This year I’ll try to keep everyone a bit more informed about exciting things we get up to.

Let’s start with the AusCycle Road Nationals! Vault Cycle Services partnered with ARA Racing to look after the ARA Junior team for 2026. This team is full of talent and we need to look after them because they’re the future stars of Australian cycling! These girls smashed it and took home almost all the medals:

It’s been a while since we’ve posted—the workshop has been busy and social media took a backseat. But the past week has been something truly special. Having the Road Nationals right here in WA is a huge win for our local cycling community, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless work of local MPs and folks like Chris Tallentire MLA.

I’ve been lucky enough to spend many years fixing bikes in local workshops, meeting some of the most talented cyclists in the world. One of the highlights of this week was my 11-year-old son meeting Sam Welsford who won Olympic gold in Paris in 2024. Sam took the time to chat with him, and it meant the world to him. I also had the privilege of being Sam’s mechanic when he was just 13-17 yrs old, unsure if cycling was his path—safe to say, it definitely was!

And here’s something that’s always been close to my heart: the jersey in this photo. It belonged to Luke Durbridge, who gave it to me after winning the Perth Crit Series in 2011, when I was working as a team mechanic for the AIS. It’s been proudly displayed in my workshop ever since. Over the years, people have wondered why I keep it, but if you know WA cycling, you understand. There’s something special happening here, and it’s incredible to see guys like Luke still competing at the highest level for our local crowds.

I'm now working with the next generation - keep your eyes out for Matthew Connan - Cyclist and Finlay Mcrobbie because WA hasn't finished producing elite cyclists!
