With this being National Volunteer Week, we would like thank all our generous volunteers. Those that show up every week to support our amazing community club. Coaches, team managers, first aiders, line markers, canteen helpers, all committee members and those that ‘Just Do’, we thank you. Barnies is a 100% volunteer club and without your support we wouldn’t be able to do what we do year in year out. This season we are fielding 32 teams across the whole club and it takes a mammoth effort to get the pitches ready every week, keep the balls pumped up ⚽️, canteen stocked and ready for the rush on the weekend 🌭🍔🍟 and keeping the whole of JT Gray, including the clubrooms, neat and tidy in readiness for all our visiting teams and supporters.
Studies have shown that volunteering can reduce stress, increase self esteem and boost your overall wellbeing.

First games of the season kick off tomorrow with lots of our teams playing at home. Good luck to everyone and have fun. Remember, its's only a game.

Our U13 girls team has space for 2-3 more players for this season. Girls need to be born either 2012 or 2013.
Training day are Wednesdays 5.30-7pm and Fridays 5-6pm.
Where : JT Gray Reserve, Kororoit Crk Rd, Williamstown.
The competition season commences on Sunday 27th April.

Our All Abilities program with children aged 6-14yrs of age with an intellectual and/or physical disability has been running for 16yrs. This year's program will be commencing on Saturday 26th April, 10am-11am.

The History of the Girls and Women’s Teams at Barnstoneworth United

The journey of girls and women’s football at Barnstoneworth United began in 2010, just one year after the club's junior program was formed. At the time, there was no dedicated Miniroos competition for girls, so the first all-girls team played in the U11s division, competing alongside boys. The team was unique, consisting of players aged 7 to 12, and laid the foundation for the years to come.

By the following year, the club expanded, creating two separate teams for girls: an U12s team and an U14s team. As the years passed, more girls’ teams were formed, and the Football Victoria (FV) competition began to grow, eventually adding more age groups.

In 2017, a significant milestone was reached with the formation of the club's first women’s team. This team participated in the Victorian Soccer competition and was the precursor to Barnstoneworth’s first senior women’s team, which began competing in the FV league in 2018.

By 2025, Barnstoneworth United had achieved incredible progress, offering female teams across all age groups, from U9s through to seniors. The U7s and U8s teams remained mixed, which was a heartwarming sight, as it showed the spirit of inclusivity and teamwork for players of all genders.

Another significant achievement in this journey was the rise of female coaches, with multiple women taking on coaching roles at the club. This has provided inspiring role models and further strengthened the sense of empowerment within the female football community.

From those humble beginnings in 2010 to the thriving network of female players and coaches today, Barnstoneworth United's commitment to women’s football has transformed the landscape of the sport within the club and beyond.
