QDRC Round 4 Top Sportsman Race Report
Brought to you by Lifestyle Injury Lawyers

Top Sportsman is always a tough gig at Willowbank Raceway and even though it was a small field it did not mean that the journey to the final was going to be easy at all. And the final came down to Dave Gauldie and Allan Grimsey. Lets look at how they made it to the final.

In round 1 Dave Gauldie had a bye and tested his dial in with a 8.02 on a 8.00.

In round 2 hit an 8.12 on a 8.00 so even though he was off his dial in he still won by virtue of a .037 leave beat Steve McKenzie on a 8.80 on a 8.69 with a .186 light.

In round 3 hit a 8.09 on a 7.95 with a .111 light over Robert Valastro with a 8.78 on a 8.65 with a very late leaving .189.

On the other side of the coin Grimsey cut an excellent .004 light and ran a 8.916 on a 8.90 over current Australian champion Daniel Morris with a 8.052 on a 8.04 with a .014 leave in a very tight encounter.

In round 2 it was another tight race with a .034 light to a 8.896 on a 8.89 over a .036 leave and a 8.628 on a 8.61 from Denis Ryan.

In round 3 he had a bye and eased to the line with a 9.90 on a 8.88.

Unfortunately the final Grimsey's run of good races came to an end with a -.001 red handing Gauldie the automatic win with a breakout 7.946 on a 7.99.

Please check out the video of some of the action from the day including the final.

QDRC Round 4 Super Street Race Report
Brought to you by Lifestyle Injury Lawyers

SEQ has the reputation of having some of the best Super Street racers in the land and this round QDRC stood up to that standard.
In the end of the night it was down to Shaun Doeblien and Troy Hutton. This is the story of their journey for the night.

In round 1 Hutton took advantage of an easy win with a 10.96 on a 10.90 as his opponent Scott Porter (yes this is the Pro Stock Mustang Scott Porter), red lighted with a -.166.

In round 2 ran a 10.94 on a 10.90 on a bye.

In round 3 ran a pretty much well bang on 10.905 on a 10.90 against Mark Rossow who broke out with a 11.650 on a 11.74.

His opponent in the final, Dhaun Doeblien, took a win in round 1 with a 10.66 on a 10.62 over Mark Rossow with a 11.73 on a 11.68.

In round 2 ran a 10.64 on a 10.62 over Christine Thomson who broke out with a 11.044 on a 11.06.

In round 3 ran a very tight and hard to beat deal with a 10.604 on a 10.60 and a .026 leave to a 10.08 on a 10.05 and late leaving Bill Henry.

In the final reaction times counted for nothing as they both left with a clean green but both broke out with Hutton getting the win light with a 10.893 on a 10.90 just pipping Dobelien with a 10.554 on a 10.58.

Please check out the video of some of the runs during the day including the final.

QDRC Round 4 Super Sedan Race Report
Brought to you by Lifestyle Injury Lawyers

Super Sedan at QDRC there is usually no such thing as an easy win as the field is usually filled with some of the toughest bracket racers around. But the cream usually rises to the top and the finalists was the current points leader Damien Morris and Daniel Lake.

Morris took a win in the first round against veteran George Wegener with a 10.25 on a 10.20 over a 9.80 on a 9.76 benefiting from a holeshot .012 to a .143.

In round 2 a 10.12 on a 10.20 took care of Adam White who broke out with a 9.534 on a 9.58.

In round 3 won with a 10.20 on a 10.17 over Parry Georgis in his rotary powered Gemini with a 10.11 on a 9.90.

On the other side Lake took a win with a 9.62 on a 9.60 over Paul Doeblien's Mustang on a 9.26 on a 9.24.

In round 2 had an easy win with a 9.62 on a 9.59 against a red lighting George Wegener with a -.003 leave.

Round 3 he took a perfect .000 leave and ran a 9.57 on a 9.56 which easily handled Adam White on a breakout 9.516 on a 9.52.

The final was going to be tight with both drivers leaving late off the line with Lake getting the holeshot .180 to a .190 to Morris. But it was Morris who pushed Lake a bit too hard taking a 10.18 on a 10.17 over a breakout 9.543 on a 9.56 from Lake.

Please enjoy the video which shows some of the action throughout the day including the final.

QDRC Round 4 QDRC Outlaws Race Report

Presented by Lifestyle Injury Lawyers

QDRC Outlaws again had a small but quality field for this round of the championship. And the final came down to the current Australian champion Josh Fletcher and current points leader Graeme Frawley. This is the journey of how they got there.

In round 1 Josh eliminated his father Bill with a 7.32 on a 7.27 over a 6.76 on a 6.73. Bill was closer to his dial in but son Josh took the benefit of a holeshot .024 to a .115 leave.

In round 2 Fletcher won with a 7.36 on a 7.29 to a .029 leave over the altered of Garry Cameron with a 7.71 on a 7.55 with a .035 light.

On the other side Frawley ran a 6.79 on a 6.75 over Tim Clifton who left before the tree was activated on round 1.

In round 2 Frawley had a huge holeshot victory with a .010 light and a 6.78 on a 6.75 over a very quick Cheyne Phillips with a 5.62 on a 5.60 but had no chance with a .264 snooze at the tree.

The final ended up being a double breakout with Frawley getting the best of it and the win light with a 6.747 on a 6.76 over Fletcher with a 7.254 on a 7.27.
