Engine drama forced me to stop on the exit of turn 3 on the cool down lap.

With the trailer of shame already full and everyone else back in the pits and not wanting to delay the schedule I pushed myself through the cut out and back into the pits but geez that was an effort 😅

Killer shot by Gareth Crisp smashing the screen on my Go Pro

On the cool down lap of the final race of the weekend and I hear a weird clunk when I changed gears. Then when I arrived down at turn 3 a huge vibration went through the kart. Quickly pulling over and turning the engine off to minimise any damage.

Upon an inspection it looks like the crank nut has come undone and the keyway has disintegrated into 3 pieces.

Thankfully nothing major and a simple fix.

Jason Akermanis in the #12 got a bit of a wake up call when the 2 250 Nationals came blasting past 🤣

Geez these boys are going hard were his words.

Full trust to send it into Turn 1 with Gareth Crisp on my inside and Mick Bakker on the outside.

Threaded the needle to come out ahead 😁

Jack and Remy are super keen to help push Daddy away

They already know not to hang onto the rear wing when the kart starts so they don't fall over not bad for 3 year olds 😁

Early on in Race 1 when Gareth Crisp decided to have a poke at turn 1.

Hanging tough around outside and regaining the lead into turn 2

Round 2 wrap up!

We threw everything at Gareth Crisp and ultimately came up short. Race 3 Sunday morning was one of the most intense and exciting racing I've ever been a part of.

We went side by side for about a lap and a half it was absolutely awesome! make sure you check out the video in the comments. Gareth won the race by 0.7 but I set my best lap of 1:15.02 on the last lap trying to catch him.

Race 4 and I got the initial getaway but a small mistake on lap 2 gave him just enough breathing room that I couldn't bridge the gap to mount another attack. We were both doing low 1:15's pushing our karts to the limit but he managed a better run through the traffic and cruised to an easy victory.

Mega congratulations to Gareth on taking out the QLD Superkart Club 'Cup'

We'll regroup and go again for round 3 on the 7th of June Queensland Raceway

It was on! Gareth Crisp and Tim Weier duking it out during race 3 at the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series at Queensland Raceway

This was some of the most intense racing I've ever done. Wheel to wheel for over a lap!

Never touching just good hard clean racing with full respect from both of us!
