You never know who you might run into at the kart track. Out cutting some laps in his Birel KZ Kart.

This weekend saw the running of Rd 3 of the Winter Carnival at Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley Kart Club. Tony raced in Tag 125 for the first time against some pretty big hitters. Scott McLaughlin, Kel Treseder and Justin Garioch just to name a few. Thanks so much to Poppy and Di, the best pit crew in the business. Poppy was the big winner on the day taking first prize in the Fathers Day raffle winning a merchandise pack from DJR Team Penske all signed by Scott McLaughlin #17

Tony and Rick made the journey to Warwick Kart Track this weekend for the 3rd and final round of the Southern Queensland Kart Series.

Rick qualified 3rd in Tag Restricted Medium while Tony qualified 7th in Tag Restricted Masters in a quality field.

Rick finished the round with 2 x 2nd places and 2 x 1st places resulting in FIRST place for the round and only ONE point of third place overall for the series.

Tony had carby issues on Saturday sorting it out on Sunday finishing 4th in the final. The weekends results ended with THIRD place for the series overall.

That’s a wrap folks. 2018 CQ Series done and dusted for another year.
Chris took out 2nd overall for the weekend and 1st Place overall for the 2018 CQ Series !! It was close with only a few points between 1st and 2nd but we got there !! Awesome driving in all 4 rounds of the series Chris and congrats on your well deserved Series win. And now you have a Plate as well !!!
(Better step it up at Coffs next year Rick cause you’re the only Jones without a plate now... just saying 😆)

Big shout out to Neil Grother for all the work he does on the JRT engines, Gerard Battye from Two4tuning and all the JRT crew for the support and Rick and Poppy for swinging spanners all weekend too.

Chris wins the final race of round 4 of the CQ Series and gets 2nd for this round by calculating points. What an awesome Race to watch (you can see the live stream here on our FB Page) & a very well timed pass for 1st by Chris. Now to wait to see the points tally to see if he also gets the series win
