Mr John Allen was on the original Willunga Recreation Park of 1876
Here are the ladies in his life, Kathleen, Maude and Rita Allen
Hopefully they got to enjoy the facilities as well-perhaps the croquet, tennis and annual agricultural shows?

On Sunday October 4th Willunga Recreation Park will be celebrating its 150th Birthday with a party at the park. A highlight of the event will be the unveiling of the Stage 1 pickets we have sold over the past few months. These pickets will highlight many residents of Willunga’s history of their involvement with the town, both past and current. We are still seeking more people to donate a picket or panel so we can upgrade the oval fence further. If you want to be part of the stage 1 project please access www.willungarecpark.com.au/projects and make a purchase. Please note that you can make a tax deductible purchase if required.
Once you have made a purchase we will contact you to obtain details of the information you would like on the plaque which is placed on the pickets.
Photo just because I love an old throw back...looks like they are awaiting the announcement of the Almond Blossom Queen!
Let us know you are coming to our party-music, food, drinks, free kids activities, check out local clubs and groups

Love this honour board of World War 1 local veterans and feel I would have definitely joined the Willunga Cheer Up Society. Established in 1914, the local branch organised farewells for local men, welcoming soldiers home, making and sending wooden goods and kitbags. Check out the real thing in the Show Hall or willungantsa.com.au for more info
