💙 A HUGE COUGARS THANK YOU TO STEVE KLOMP! 💙

Behind every great club is someone who goes above and beyond, and that person is our very own President, Steve! 🐾👏

Over the off-season, Steve has been hard at work transforming our clubhouse storage and creating something truly special for our Cougars community.

🔨 Brand-new shelving systems – built with his own hands using recyclable and generously donated materials, creating a much better storage system for all our teams.

📸 A Wall of Fame – showcasing our team photos and celebrating the teams that make our club what it is.

👕 A Retired Jersey Wall – giving pride of place to our retired jerseys and recognising a special part of our club’s history.

Thank you, Steve, for everything you do – both the big things and all the things that happen behind the scenes 🐾

So, if you see Steve around the club on Saturday mornings, please stop and say hi! And make sure you pop into the clubhouse to check out all his amazing handiwork. We think you’ll agree it’s something to be proud of! 🙌

Coaches/Managers/Team Officials Briefing WEDNESDAY 14th OCTOBER- 6PM
Centenary Park Pavilion.

At least one representative from each team should attend. We’ll be handing out scorebooks, rulebooks, and all the essentials for the season ahead. It is also a good opportunity for new coaches and managers to get advice. See you there!

🐾 CAN YOU HELP? 💙⚾️

We’ve had lots of new members join the Canning Cougars this season, which is fantastic! 🙌

But with our club growing, our small committee needs a few extra hands to help keep things running smoothly.

We’re looking for:

⚾️ Head Coach – help lead our players and support our coaches throughout the season.

☕ Assistant Canteen Manager – lend a hand with the running of our canteen on Saturday mornings.

📏 Diamond Line Marking Volunteers – help line mark our diamonds on a weekly basis. We have more diamonds this season.

🐾 General Committee Members – get involved, share ideas and help out where you can.

Our next Committee Meeting is on TUESDAY 6 OCTOBER at 7PM at the Clubhouse, Centenary Park please come along.

You don’t need to have years of experience — just a willingness to help and be part of our amazing club community. 💙

🥎 MEET THE TEAM/COACH DAY

Saturday, 19 September 2026 at 9:00am at the Clubhouse at Centenary Park, Wilson.

Please try to attend, especially new players. This is a good opportunity to meet the team and either meet your coach if someone has nominated or otherwise arrange your coach, manager and assistant coach/es. Team shirts will also be handed out. Canning Cougars are an entirely parent volunteer ran club, so we rely on parents to contribute where they can.
If you can't make it, I'll email out the team lists with contact information of your coach/manager on the weekend.

🥎 KEY DATES

Open Training Day: 10 October 2026 9am - 11am
Geared towards new players and parents, but open to all.

Kids: An opening season club-wide training session. Bring along a friend who is interested but yet to register!

Parents: An opportunity to learn the basics of Tee-Ball and how to help coach your child.

ROUND 1 Saturday 17 October 2026 at 8:15am.

🥎 UNIFORM

Please ensure you've purchased pants and a hat from the online store. These can be picked up at the Meet the Team Day or Round One. Team shirts will be supplied by the Club.

🥎 EQUIPMENT

The only equipment players require of their own is a mitt. Fielder's Choice are an excellent store with a wide range of mitts. The club will supply bats, helmets, tees, bases, etc - children are welcome to use their own helmets and bats so long as they comply with TBAWA rules (all at Fielder's Choice comply).

If anyone is interested in Tee-Ball or Machine Pitch Camp on the school holidays.

Our Speed3 School Holiday Camps aren't just about getting more game time. Players will spend the week developing the skills they need on the diamond, from hitting and fielding to base running, before putting them into action in fast-paced Speed3 games.

Speed3 is designed around smaller teams, faster rotations and more opportunities to get involved, meaning more reps and less time standing around.

We've got two exciting camps - Tee-Ball & Machine Pitch - which will take place from Tuesday 29 September – Friday 2 October, at Maida Vale Oval (Kalamunda Rangers Fields).

⚾️ What a fantastic Have a Go Day! ⚾️

It was so wonderful to see so many families down at the club on Saturday — lots of familiar faces from our existing families, as well as plenty of new families coming along to see what Tee-Ball is all about! 💙

There were lots of smiles, laughs and, most importantly, lots of kids having fun and having their very first go at hitting a ball off a tee! 🥎👏 Watching the kids give it a go and enjoy themselves was exactly what the day was all about.

A huge thank you to Brian from Hot Shotz Coffee ☕️ for keeping everyone fuelled and caffeinated, and of course a massive thank you to our amazing Committee for putting in the time and effort to make the day such a success. 💙

We loved welcoming everyone to our club and hope to see lots of our new families back on the diamond for the upcoming season!

HAVE A GO Day POSTPONED - We have had to postpone Have a Go Day to Saturday 12 September 2026.

For anyone interested in playing Tee Ball in 2026-27, come down to Have A Go Day.

Kids can try Tee-Ball and learn about our club. Parents can meet club officials, ask questions about registration, buy uniforms or equipment!

Members from past season who bring a Friend are entitled to a free Drink and Ice Cream for themselves and their Friends!
