Winchelsea are participating in Tennis Geelong Monday night ladies competition again this year.

We are still looking for ladies who may be interested to give it a go!

Matches are every Monday night starting from the 5th of October with the season ending on the 14th of December.

⭐️ Saturday Superstars – GRAND FINAL: 20 years in the making ⭐️

Final match of the season: Winchelsea vs Wandana Heights at Winchelsea TC on a beautiful day with a strong crowd. Who takes it home?

A late change saw Byron out due to sickness, but the team pushed on. Kurt and Jo started strong, winning 6-2, while Adri and Josh fell 3-6.

The men went down 2-6, but the ladies responded with a 6-2 win to even things up.

Heading into the final two sets, Winchelsea led by just 1 game.

Kurt and Katrina dominated 6-1, leaving Jo and Josh needing just 1 game to secure the flag. They battled hard to win 7-6.

Winchelsea claim their first Saturday senior flag in over 20 years!
Final score: 4 sets to 2, 30 games to 23.

The celebrations followed with a great afternoon tea, as Vice President Fletcher presented the awards:

“The team deserved it… easily the best all season. This premiership means a lot as we’ve worked hard to rebuild tennis in the town.”

Towels were handed out, with Kurt named MVP for topping sets and games across the season.

Congratulations to this champion team! A huge day and a huge season — what’s next?
