Most gyms make every session feel hard.
At SONNY’S, we make every block build toward something.
Power Week is where that gets tested.
Not random workouts.
Not “let’s just smoke ourselves for content.”
This week means something.
Every lift, every session, every rep leading into this has been building toward this moment.
You’ll see people hit lifts they couldn’t touch 10 weeks ago.
First chin-ups.
Big squat PBs.
Extra plates on the bar.
More confidence under pressure.
And the best part?
Not everyone is chasing the same number.
For some people it’s a 200kg deadlift.
For someone else it’s finally feeling strong for the first time in their life.
That’s what Power Week is really about.
Proof.
Proof the structure works.
Proof the coaching works.
Proof that showing up consistently changes people.
This is group strength training.
And every session builds toward something.

Getting stronger changes your training.
But it also changes the way you walk into things.
You stop guessing.
Stop hoping it works.
And start feeling yourself improve week to week.
Strength usually looks smaller than people expect.
One more rep than last week.
The smallest plate added to the bar.
A lift that finally starts to feel solid.
Then one day you look back and realise how far it’s actually moved.
That’s how it builds here.

Results don’t come from one good session.
They come from staying with something.
Showing up.
Working on the same lifts.
Getting a little bit better each time.
That’s how it builds.
Team! You might recognise this little face from our team community days! Loves to be around the fam joining her parents in getting involved…
This is Eilidh (pronounced Ay-lee for those not so fluent in Scottish Gaelic).
Eilidh is 7 and is a member of the low vision community. She’s made of tough resilient stuff and would like to raise some awareness and dollars to support Vision Australia.
Eilidh is running the magic mile in Ballarat on 25 April whilst her mum is running the Ballarat Marathon the very next day. We’d love your support (be that a donation of whatever you can manage, a message of support or a song suggestion to add to the playlist).
A bit about the legends at Vision Australia… these guys are angels personified. They’re there for the Low Vision Community no matter how big or small the ask, particularly our kids who are navigating a life that is a little different to their mates. They help with services, advice, support and some phenomenal aids to help everyday life. We’d love to give back to that community in any way we can!
Eilidh has set herself a $500 target 🎯 and we would love you to help her get there if you can!
Thanks for reading team & if you see us before the big dance please wish us luck! 🍀

If every session feels random, don’t be surprised when your results are too.
You bounce between workouts.
Different formats. Different coaches. Different focus every day.
One day it’s legs.
Next day it’s circuits.
Then it’s conditioning.
Then it’s something completely different again.
There’s no thread pulling it together.
So what actually happens?
You sweat.
You feel worked.
You leave thinking, “that was a good session.”
But ask yourself this..
What did you improve?
What got stronger?
What moved forward from last week?
You don’t know.
Because nothing is being built.
Random training gives you random feedback.
Some weeks you feel fitter.
Some weeks you feel flat.
Some weeks you think it’s working.
Some weeks you question everything.
You end up blaming yourself don’t you?
“Maybe I’m not trying hard enough.”
“Maybe I need more motivation.”
No.
You don’t need more effort.
You need direction.
Because effort without structure is just noise.
And noise doesn’t build strength.
It doesn’t build confidence.
It doesn’t give you anything you can rely on.
If you’re not tracking it, progressing it, and repeating it with intent…
You’re not training.
You’re just staying busy.
What it means to be strong at SONNY’S.
Not just lifting weights.
Building it properly… then actually using it.
That’s where training starts to feel different.

Training isn’t the problem.
Most people are already doing that.
The problem is having nothing to build on.
If every session is different…
it’s hard to actually get better at anything.
