You might compete alone, but you never succeed alone.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu may look like an individual sport. When you step onto the competition mat, only one person is standing opposite you.
But behind every athlete is a TEAM!
Every technique you improve has been practised hundreds of times with a teammate.
Every escape you've developed required someone to put you in a bad position.
Every submission you've sharpened required a teammate willing to tap, reset and go again.
And every tough round that pushed you beyond your comfort zone required someone else to share the mat with you.
We need each other to improve.
Good teammates don't just focus on their own development. They help the people around them become better too.
They encourage the beginner.
They challenge the experienced athlete.
They celebrate each other's victories.
They support each other through losses.
They train hard without trying to hurt each other.
And when one person improves, they raise the standard for everyone around them.
That's what TEAMWORK means in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Your teammates aren't simply the people you train against.
They're the people you grow with.
Individual effort creates improvement.
But great teams create great athletes.
Message us NOW to find out how you can take advantage of our two-class introductory offer and experience what our team has to offer.

Resilience isn't built when everything is going your way. It's built when things aren't.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gives young athletes something increasingly valuable — the opportunity to struggle in a safe and supportive environment.
They will get submitted.
They will lose matches.
They will have days when nothing seems to work.
They'll train with someone who feels stronger, faster or more experienced.
And sometimes, they'll walk off the mat disappointed.
That's not failure. That's where resilience begins.
Because Jiu Jitsu teaches children that having a bad round doesn't mean having a bad day. Losing a match doesn't make them a loser. And being unable to do something today doesn't mean they won't be able to do it tomorrow.
They learn to reset.
To listen.
To practise.
To come back and try again.
As parents, it can be tempting to remove the struggle when we see a child disappointed or frustrated. But if we remove every obstacle, we also remove their opportunity to learn how to overcome one.
Resilience isn't developed by making the road easier.
It's developed by giving children the support and encouragement they need to keep travelling when the road gets difficult.
That's one of the greatest lessons Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can give a young person:
You don't have to win every time. You just have to keep turning up.

Last week we were very proud to award Ethan the athlete of the week for his resilience and tenacity.
Ethan started training with us i. The P*e Wees, had a break, and returned to join our Juniors.
Congratulations Ethan, this is very well deserved!
To reduce a child’s training because they were dominated in training or competition is like saying you’ll send them to school when they’re smart enough — or refusing to go to the gym until you’re fit enough.
Confidence doesn’t come before the work. Confidence comes FROM the work.
When a child struggles on the mat, loses matches, gets submitted or finds themselves outmatched, our first instinct as parents can be to protect them from that uncomfortable feeling.
But removing the challenge also removes the opportunity to overcome it.
In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, confidence is built through regular attendance and repetition.
They turn up.
They struggle.
They learn.
They try again.
They improve.
And eventually, the position they once couldn't escape from becomes one they can handle. The teammate they couldn't keep up with becomes someone they can challenge. The competition that once overwhelmed them becomes an experience they know how to manage.
That is where genuine confidence comes from.
Not from being told they're great.
Not from always winning.
Not from avoiding situations where they might struggle.
It comes from being able to look back and realise:
"I couldn't do this before — but now I can."
If we want resilient, confident young athletes, we can't remove every obstacle from their path.
Sometimes our job is simply to encourage them to keep turning up.
Because confidence isn't built by avoiding hard things.
It's built by proving to yourself that you can do hard things.
Give YOUR child the GIFT of CONFIDENCE through the Martial Art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Our Teens (12-15yrs) are an amazing group of athletes. Always willing to help each other improve, test themselves and show courage and determination during adversity.
This week, the novice belts have been focusing on the position known as the mount whilst the advanced belts have been working on a submission known as the choi bar.
The energy they bring to training is electric, and it is great to see them test themselves and their skills during live wrestling.
If you have a teenager who hasn't 'found' their sport, our two-class introductory offer is only $26.77.
All YOU have to do is message us, and we'll get back to you with information on how your teen could find their 'next thing'.

When you're at training, you are there because you choose to be there.
When you're at training, you want to have the most energy, have the best attitude, give your best effort, allow your coach to guide you, and have the courage to step up to any challenge that is placed before you.
You owe it to yourself, no one else. For if you drop that standard, you will be questioned, you will be tested, and you won't enjoy what you are doing.
All of these traits are contagious, and you will lift your teammates up with the right attitude.
