Today we marked the end of 46 years of owning and running a wonderful local business that I began back in 1979. What started as an interest became a passion .

Alison and I are retiring and would like to take the time to thank all of the wonderful
customers who have supported us over the years .
In many cases people who have become friends, fellow snow junkies and in some cases we’ve seen 3 generations of local families start their snow adventures passing through our doors.

We would like to recognise the part all our staff members during the years have played in the success of this business, thank you all.

A special recognition has to go to our sons Matthew and Daniel . They worked with us for many years and became as invested as we were . There were many days we could not have done it without them .

The shop at 6 Thomas Mitchell Drive is now closed but will re open under new ownership in a brand new Wodonga location with a great local family in 2026 who we hope will enjoy this business as much as we have .
We wish them all the best and will be supporting them in the transition as they take the reins .

Hopefully we’ll now get a chance to enjoy the local ski areas together and run into many of you on the slopes in the years to come .

Good afternoon all,

Mount Buffalo National Park is now CLOSED to the public due to the ongoing Victoria Police incident at Porepunkah.
The park will reopen once the incident is resolved. We ask all visitors planning to visit the park to follow Victoria Police’ advice and avoid the area, a road closure is currently in place.
We will continue to update you via this stakeholder list over the coming days for any changes.

I am hearing that we should get quite a bit of rain in the resorts Tuesday night and into Wednesday, the snow loss will be significant but what follows is quite a lot of new snow for a few days which will more than replace what is lost. The season is coming to an end though, and I think probably only 2 more good weekends after this one to get up there while the conditions are this good. After that the snow will start to dwindle. It is a long summer for those who don't ski overseas.

Myself and the new owner of the ski shop are heading to Mount Buller next week to have a look at some of next winters skis and other equipment and have a test drive of a few of them, this is usually the fun part of my job.

With my retirement quickly approaching at the end of this season and another well know boot fitter Andy Burford relocating to the USA soon , it’s lucky I have been training a replacement for myself in the ski shop.
Brian , the new owner , has spent the last few months working along side me , learning everything I can possibly teach him . He has already learnt a massive amount and I am sure it won’t be long and he will develop his own reputation as a skilled boot fitter.

After 30 years of trading from 6 Thomas mitchell drive in Wodonga, at the end of August, we are moving up the road a bit next to the new fire station in Thomas mitchell drive, so we may be operating limited hours and both shops will look a bit messy while we do the moving and get setup. The new address is 79 Thomas mitchell drive, same phone number as before.
