We ask you to just take a moment to think before you speak. Remember, the umpire out there is someone’s son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, father, grand parent, or friend. We too are human.

There’s no place in our game for umpire abuse or anti-social behaviour at the footy. Join us in calling it out.

Congratulations to former AFLNEB Field Umpire Heyden Pearson on making his VFL debut in round 1 of the VFL.

Nick Brown is coming to town!

Nick Brown will be the MC for the 2024 AFL NEB Umpire Presentation Dinner!

Nick is a current AFL-listed Field Umpire (Shirt #13 and AFL Heritage Number 434) who commenced his career with the VAFA in 2003 and made his AFL Debut in Round 9, 2015 at Hawthorn v Gold Coast, and to date has officiated 140 AFL matches.

Some honours for Nick include:
- AFL Victoria Goden Whistle (2007)
- TAC Cup (Coates Talent League) Grand Final (2011)
- VFL Grand Final (2014 & 2017)
- State League Representative Match – VIC v SA (2014)

Nick will partake in a Q&A session, alongside fellow goal umpire Matthew Maclure (joining via Zoom).

Congratulations to Nick Bahr (Ex-AFLNEB & O&M Senior Grand Final Boundary Umpire) on an appointment to his 1st VFL Senior Match!

Since finishing up at AFLNEB after umpiring an Ovens & Murray Senior Grand Final, Nick went on to join the VAFA whilst being a part of the V/Line Community Umpiring Academy, and we eventually promoted to the VFL Development Squad in 2023 and has now made his VFL Senior debut!

Another success story arising for the North East Border Region!
