Round #6 has arrived after a weekend off and the kids (and parents I'm assuming) are all ready for a big day of soccer. Let's keep kicking those goals and enjoying our season!

What to bring:
Water bottles
Shin pads
Oranges and lollies (for whoever is on duty in your team)
A hot tea or coffee to warm your bones as the Winter weather hits!

Please ensure you are at least 15 minutes early to find your field, warm up and get ready for your game.

COACH SPOTLIGHT NIGHT!
Another Under 9's coach comes into the realm tonight as we introduce Denis Keat to our long line of wonderful coaches. Denis joined Wodonga Diamonds as a coach in 2024 for our Under 9's tribe and firmly cemented his place as one of our most loveable and down to earth coaches - noted for his kindess and patience and most understanding of his kids needs.

As one of our tallest over 35's players, Denis plays right back and is known for 'having no breaks' - his inability to stop makes him a force on the field. As coach, he works hard to ensure a fair game is played between teams and is always on hand when help is needed within the club and his friends.

We are pleased to present to you tonight: Denis Keat.

If the King celebrated his birthday the way Wodonga Diamonds partied over the weekend, he would have had a great time!

Friday night saw our Mini-Roo's come together for a fabulous evening of dancing and socialising of players and parents across all age groups. The dance floor was busy, our DJ didn't stop pumping out the tunes and good times flowed.

Saturday night was our senior club's turn and they turned it on with their Op-Shop themed ball, bringing flair and style into the mix. Lots of double denin, ugly bridesmaid dresses, pink tutus and tweed jackets, pink ladies pants and the 80s made a serious comeback. The food was incredible, the drinks flowed, new friendships were made and the dance floor was never empty.

If you weren't there, reserve a ticket for next year - because we're not going anywhere!

Big thank you to the Serbian Orthodox community for hosting and bringing our ideas to life. Community clubs are the lifeblood of local sport. Without them and their wonderful team of volunteers, our weekend would not have been as successful as it was. Thank you to the Over 35's Wodonga Diamonds Team for organising and being the life of the party.

COACH SPOTLIGHT NIGHT!

Tonight we look at our Under 6's team and are excited to introduce, Mark McAuley to our Diamond's family. Since joining Wodonga Diamonds at the beginning of 2026, Mark has already become an integral part of our Under 6's team, jumping in and assisting his team with confidence and supporting their soccer skills, while also coaching his little boy in the same team.
His love for soccer came from playing sporadically and now, from teaching and watching the kids grow their skills, kicking goals and their growing fearlessness on the field. A true leader, Mark has found his feet within our Diamonds crew and we're excited to see out the rest of the season with him.

We're excited and pleased to present, Mark McAuley.

MIni-Roo's! 5 days to go until our disco! So swap those soccer boots for your dance shoes, roll those balls away for your best dance moves and let's have a great night out on us!

Remember to either RSVP on our event on our page or in your Heja group. Drinks and food will be available to purchase at the event and parents are more than welcome to stay (or drop off!). There will be parents staying to help supervise the event.

There's a reason why we're here and we're always ready for anything. The question is - are you ready for the new sensations that we keep on serving up each week? Despite the wet weather and a few slippery moments, yesterday proved that while we're only human, we're full of perfect moments that's impossible to ignore.

While yesterday also dished up our club on BBQ duties, it's clear that our strength in community is strong and we are incredibly thankful to our families and volunteers who helped and supported us yesterday. We couldn't have done it without you and we're very, very grateful.
An extra big thank you to all of you for your dedication and help.

Now that Round #5 is over, we're all ready for a break for the King's Birthday and that wonderful long weekend. See you soon for Round #6!
