Keep an eye out for the announcement of the new Committee for 2026/2027 next week.
Its a mix of some faces you might know and some you might not.
This crew brings passion for the sport, experience in fields related to running successful events from compliance to a professional presenter on the microphone.
We cant wait to bring you the plans for the upcoming season.

The last race for the 2025/2026 season, Cairns half & full ironman.
3 from the area are doing the full and 2 doing the half.
For those that dont know these distances - A full ironman is 3.8km swim/180km bike/ 42.2km run. There is a 17hr cut off and regardless if you are a pro that will do it under 8hrs or an age grouper that will take every part of that 17, the finish line is exactly the same. Times are irrelevant, its all about the journey.

I am terrible at keeping things a secret but the awards have finally been awarded.
🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
Mathew Kent has been awarded the most inspiring performance of the season, up against some world class competitors.
Even very very low vision doesn't stop people from competing in this sport. Well done to Mathew, his coach Travis Beckley from Beckworth Racing and his Guides for making this possible. It might be an individual sport on raceday but their is always support behind you.

What a cracking day to not train. Have a rest day and come have a Beer, Wine or Softdrink with us. 3pm at the stump, its our shout.
This also co-incides with the BTS AGM. Yes we know these are not the most fun things but they are a requirement of us being a non-profit club.
There is no pressure from anyone to join the committee but it will be a great opportunity for you to give any opinions you might have about the upcoming season.
There is also a games room for the kids so they wont get bored. I will personally put a couple of bucks towards the games.
The Blazing Stump
4315 Anzac Parade, Wodonga VIC 3690
3pm kick off.
FREE BEER, WINE or SOFT DRINK.
Friendly reminder : Border Triathlon Squad AGM is on THIS SATURDAY - 30th May at 3pm.
The Stump Hotel, Wodonga.
Come along and have a beer, wine or soft drink on us. Remember there is absolutely zero obligation to take on any roles.
If there is anyone that would like to help but can't or doesn't want to fully commit there is an option to form a group to help organise the Women's Triathlon - this is based on the new committee's dedicsion but with a number of changes from the Women's Triathlon that had 150+ entries with the course not running as smooth as we hoped to our Rutherglen Triathlon that attracted close to 200 people and ran a lot smoother with some course modifications.
The organising group would only be for the months leading up to the event, not the full season like normal committee roles.

Congrats to Border Tri Squad / Beckworth Racing member Mathew Kent for being a finalist for the VIC Triathlon awards night for Most Inspiring of the year.
Mathew has Usher Syndrome. Which results in moderate hearing loss and blindness from Retnis Pigmentosa.
He has recently been able to sack his original guide and finally upgrade which has seen a distance PB at Geelong 70.3 this year to add to his resume of Inspiring results.
Well done Mat.

Winter is definitely a harder time to train.
We have a number of members/community committed to Ironman Port Macquarie, Port Mac 70.3, Sunshine Coast 70.3 and Challenge Canberra - 100km distance.
These training blocks are done over the winter months... because not only are these events challenging, they are extra challenging with a Victorian winter to train in.
We have opened a chat group to create a bit of a training group. If you want to be involved in this please comment here or drop us a DM and we can add you. Even if you arent doing any of these events and just want people to train with over the cooler months for accountability, thats cool too.
