This year’s Jo Maddox Most Courageous Player Award was presented by Jo’s husband Tony and daughter Leila, in honour of a much‑loved Life Member whose legacy continues to shape our club.

Our 2026 recipient is Gabi Mendizabal, goalkeeper for the U12 Division 2 team.

Gabi was nominated by multiple teams for his unwavering commitment, fearless goalkeeping, and exceptional resilience — returning strong after conceding, stepping up to support both the U13 and U14 teams, and even playing through injury when the U14s had no substitutes. His willingness to take on bigger challenges and support his teammates reflects the true spirit of courage.

Congratulations, Gabi and thank you to the Maddox family for this enduring support. 💚🐍
