📱 CAN'T MAKE YOUR SWIM LESSON? HERE’S HOW TO RECORD AN ABSENCE!
Life happens! Kids get sick, appointments pop up, and sometimes you simply can't make swimming.

If you can't attend, recording your absence in advance through The Swim Factory Australia App ensures you receive a makeup token so your swimmer doesn't miss out on valuable pool time! 🏊♂️✨

📲 HOW TO RECORD AN ABSENCE IN 3 EASY STEPS:
1️⃣ Open The Swim Factory Australia App and tap 'Account' at the bottom.
2️⃣ Tap on your child's profile under 'Students'.
3️⃣ Tap 'Future Absences' (or 'Makeups') to submit your upcoming absence!

Once recorded, your makeup token will be automatically generated. You'll have 90 days to use your token to book a makeup lesson!

Want to build water comfort at home before formal lessons start?

Gentle bath play — letting water trickle over your baby's head, calm splashing games — helps in exactly the same way our Splash classes do (running across all five of our centres): keeping that natural comfort alive rather than letting it fade.

No need to rush it, just follow your baby's lead. 🛁💙

First lesson coming up? Keep it simple. 🏊

Well-fitting swimwear (avoid anything too loose that could catch on movement), a towel, and a swim cap if your centre requires one.

No goggles are needed for younger swimmers just starting out — comfort and confidence come first, technique comes later.

The week your child stops flinching at water on their face, the week they float a second longer. Celebrate those too!

"Why do people teach babies to swim?"

It's not about racing to a milestone — it's about water safety and comfort forming early, before any fear has the chance to set in.

A baby who's spent time gently in the water tends to grow into a calmer, more capable swimmer later, simply because the water was never something unfamiliar or scary to begin with. 💙

💙 Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know the human body floats more easily in saltwater than freshwater? It's all down to density — saltwater is denser, so it pushes back harder against your body.

Doesn't change how we teach, but it's a fun one for trivia night!
