Hi Softballers

I've managed to get diamond 1 up and running although not ideal condition but hopefully by 12.30 it will be better than it is now.

Canteen will not be selling salad rolls, fruit and cheese and bacon rolls today but the BBQ will run till people aren't buying it anymore.

See you all soon

Round 6 UPDATE

Hi Members

Visited a couple of times today and had reports that the schools still played on our obviously not playable diamonds. As you can see in the pictures diamond 2 is out and diamond 1 is not fantastic. Diamond 8 is just on the edge and will be out if we get any rain overnight. Diamonds 3 and 6 are ok for now. We only require 4 diamonds tomorrow.

The morning Jnr games are cancelled unfortunately and depending on rain overnight will determine if the senior games go ahead. I will make a call around 9am if not earlier.

Hopefully the weather is a bit kinder to us overnight.

Regards
Will Lutke

Morning Softballers

I've had several enquiries since Wednesday about whether I think we will be playing on Saturday..... I've been down here to inspect both the dirt and grass diamonds.

As it stands both are unplayable. I assume if there is no more rain the grass diamonds will be a possibility. Even with no rain we need wind and pretty hot sunlight for the whole day to put machines on the dirt to prepare them for play. The forecast is not favourable. Even though it has been a small amount of rain predicted every day this week but the small amount of rain has either turned into a consistent soaking or all fell at the one time of the day seemingly right over our fields.

I will be instructing the canteen to not buy anything until tomorrow so hot food and drinks will be available to start. As it stands with all these considerations and in person inspection this morning there is a strong possibility of tomorrows round being cancelled. I will monitor the weather and inspect again later in the day. You will be updated by 5pm today and if a determination can be made we will make the call as early as possible so you can alert our members.

Our mission is to get us on the diamond but once dirt diamonds are out this makes seniors problematic with at least one timeslot we need 5 diamonds at once.

Sorry I couldn't provide more clarity but I would like to give it the best chance to go ahead.

Regards
Will Lutke
