We teased some big news a few weeks ago, and now is the time to let the cat out of the bag.

We've been operating out of Woori scout hall since December 2023 and the folks from scouts have been awesome to deal with, but we've decided to take the next step and create our own space to help bring jiujitsu to the local community and surrounds.

So we've locked in a space and will be moving across in the coming weeks.

What does this mean?

Dedicated space, optimised for our needs

More classes, including morning sessions

Broader schedule to suit more people

Open mats

Same good vibe

Same student oriented coaching

Similar amount of "story time with coach Peter" (sorry bout that one ahead of time)

Well deserved level up for Shane, he's a great training partner for the rest of the crew, has a great attitude and recently did everyone proud representing the team in competition, where he equitted himself well.

Great day for the club today, with Deon, Cam and Wren stepping onto the mats for their first competition.

Deon took home nogi gold, after two tough matches where he showcased a disciplined guard game with several near submissions to clinch victory.

Cam had a great showing, with two victories, giving one of his opponents a trip to the shadowlands in the process.

Wren came up against some monsters in his division, securing a strong d'arce sumbission in a hard fought match against a triangle choke machine where he had to work out of some really bad spots before clinching victory and then almost backed it up, fighting back from a very bad position against a strong Brazilian competitor, almost securing a comeback victory by choke near the end, but for some crafty gamesmanship from his opponent.

Could not be prouder of these guys, they represented themselves and the club amazingly today.

Also a quick shoutout to Jordan from Costa Elite Academy, jumping in to help coach when I had two guys on at the same time.

Partnering once again with Woori Community House, this time its for a ladies only self defense seminar. 7pm-8:30pm, September 8th, for womens health week.

I'm not looking to turn anyone into Jason Bourne in an hour and a half, but will hopefully give you some basic, usable techniques and strategies to take away and maybe spark an interest in people to take up a martial art or combat sport to provide ongoing training.

Sad day today, we've had Pieter(on my left) training with us for the last few weeks but tonight was his last class before he has to move on.

Piete's from the Netherlands, spending time in Australia on the working holiday visa system to explore our great country and we were lucky enough that he ended up out our way for a bit.

He's been a great training partner and team mate while he's been here and will always be welcome back in the future. Best of luck from the crew on your ongoing travels mate, and don't be a stranger🤙🏻

Great day for the club today, with Shane stepping up and competing at the Savage Grappling round robin tournament.

He did himself proud in his first ever tournament, taking home silver in his nogi division and bronze in a stacked gi division.

He did a fantastic job competing against more experienced and in most cases larger opponents and showed excellent technique and composure throughout.
