Been a while since we hit a new PB for back squat. Today I could say was one of those days I woke up “feeling it”. I knew testing day was coming, visualized how and what I was going to do from warm ups through to the attempt and then when it came time, I felt confident that today was going to be different to previous blocks. I won’t lie, I was starting to feel a little frustrated and wondering if I had hit my ceiling and was almost accepting that. That becomes a dangerous mindset sometimes as it starts to place limitations on what you work for. Whilst it’s a small win, it’s an import one that now has me pumped to aim up and go again.
Old PB was 190kg and this had stood for at least 18 months.
Today we somewhat ignored the percentages and just picked building weights to give me a fair shot at 192.5kg.
Set 1: 5 x 100kg
Set 2: 3 x 130kg
Set 3: 2 x 160kg
Set 4: 1 x 175kg
Set 5: 1 x 185kg
Set 6: 1 x 192.5kg 🏆 +2.5kg
Now we reset and go again with eyes on 195.

Ahhh Bentley. You came into our home and lives somewhat unexpectedly 6 months ago. I’ve never really been a dog person. I’ve been more team cat than team dog most of my life, but in the short time you were part of my family and household, you managed to imprint a big part of yourself into our hearts. Yesterday after a fair 12 and a half year innings, your beautiful big heart that gave so much love became too exhausted and you crossed over to pupper heaven. Rest easy big dog. I’m going to miss our walks, our gym support pupper, or just sitting out the back garden with you having a chat and a pat. Good boy Bentley. ❤️
