Mount Gambier Golf Club is open to the public and visitors. Established in 1909, it is located on the northern edge of the city on what was once rolling sand hills. Elevated tees on many holes provide breathtaking view on the Mount Gambier Centenary Tower. The bar is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Alternatively, refreshments are available at the Pro Shop. The club welcomes everyone for delicious meals fortnightly on Fridays. Bookings essential.

💧 ANOTHER JOB TICKED OFF

A couple of decent irrigation repairs completed this week on our 100 mm and 150 mm mainlines.

The 150 mm job included removing an old tee piece—with one line supplying the course and the other heading off to never-never land! The unnecessary section was removed and the mainline reconnected with new fittings.

We also replaced an old valve and leaking fittings on the 100 mm line.

Nothing glamorous, but another important job ticked off before the warmer weather arrives. Scotty even gave the finished repair a quick strength test! 😂

MGGC Spring Tournament Juniors Day

Tuesday, 29th September will see the running of the MGGC Junior Open Championship as part of the 2026 Spring Tournament thanks to event sponsor Jetts Fitness

The Junior Championship will be a Stroke and Nett event with a boys & girls competition played over 18 holes for juniors with a handicap teeing off at 9am

This will be followed by a mixed 9 Hole Short Course competition for kids with out a handicap teeing off at 10am.

Ladies Pink Golf Day

Yesterday the MGGC hosted it's Ladies Pink Golf Day, raising funds for Breast Cancer. Players were encouraged to wear pink while taking part in the 3 person ambrose format, with novelty events adding to the fun of the day.

Whilst being a little chilly, the weather played its part to make the day a success with a great size field coming together to support such an important cause. With a target of a $1000 dollars, the ladies got to work and smashed it out of the park, raising an amazing $2000 to donate to the Mount Gambier Breast Cancer Awareness Group.

The funds will go towards the purchase of 2 Helping Handbags which contain vouchers for essential items and are distributed to local women diagnosed with breast cancer.

A huge thankyou to all the sponsors for their generous support, to the ladies committee for their organisation and lastly to the players for making this such a successful event.

Men's 2026 Handicap Matchplay Championships

The Rounds of 32 and 16 were played last Sunday with some fantastic matches in both the morning and afternoon rounds! Great to see some new faces getting amongst it and doing well.

This Sunday will see the Quarter Final round played in the morning with the winners progressing to the Semi Finals in the afternoon. The weather forecast looks fantastic for the weekend and the course is really coming along so everything points to an awesome weekend for golf. If you haven't got anything on, come out for a walk and witness some top quality matchplay golf!!!

PGA Professional Scott Mansfield is back with Term 4 Coaching clinics for kids aged 5-12. Scott will take participants through the basics of putting, chipping, irons and drivers during this 6 week series of classes with the option of Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights for family's juggling other commitments.

Mount Gambier Golf Club 2026 Spring Tournament

The 2026 MGGC Spring Tournament brought to you by Hahn is fast approaching!

A week of golf with something for all, this is the one week on the calendar not to be missed! Beginning with Juniors day on Tuesday the 29th thanks to Jetts Fitness, kids with a handicap will compete for the 18 Hole MGGC Open Junior Championship while for the beginners, a 9 hole short course competition is available.

Thursday will see the running of the traditional Mens & Ladies 4BBBPar competition, with the major prizes being a new pair of golf shoes thanks to Footjoy

Friday see's the addition of MGGC Ladies Open Day which will incorporate the running of the Women's SE Open Championship thanks to Jip Jip Rocks. Stroke and Nett event for the A Grade with B,C & D grade playing a Stableford competition. A great value event with $30 gaining you entry, morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea!!!

Saturday will be the prestigious 103rd edition of the Men's SE Open Championship thanks to Hahn with A,B & C Grade Stroke & Nett competitions on offer.

Rounding off the week, Sunday will be the Men's, Women's & Mixed 2 Person Ambrose thanks to Noky & Mantra Mount Gambier.
