Isobel Phillips a Life Member of our club and an amaxing 100 years old has recently relocated to Warrnambool. Members have been making the journey over to see her and all reports indicate she is doing well. The retirement home had an Anzac Service and as one of the only surviving WW2 vet’s she got to lay a wreath which was gazetted in their local newspaper. Thanks for sharing Jan and Brian Shanahan.

*** HOLE IN ONE ***

Congratulations to Tim Driver, who produced a sweetly struck iron that landed on the green, bounced twice, and rolled into the hole for a Hole in One on the 16th in yesterday's MGGC 36 Hole Open.

This makes it 2 Hole in One's for Tim after his first was every golfers worst nightmare, whilst practising by himself 😄

Well done Tim 👏

Barry Maney Volkswagen Open

Day 2 Results

Day 2 for the MGGC Barry Maney Volkswagen 36 Hole Open kicked off early this morning with a good turnout in the club to watch the Masters on the big screen while enjoying breakfast.

There were 65 in the field today with the 2nd 18 for the 36 Hole Open, or players could opt to play in the 18 Hole Mixed Stableford. The tougher conditions were reflected in the scoring, but it was another fine 1 under 71 to back up his 71 from yesterday that saw Darren Bilney take out the 36 Hole Gross and the coveted Neil Richardson Trophy from overnight leader Hayden Schroder who was Runner Up

Judd Wheatley put together 2 solid rounds over the weekend to win the 36 Hole Nett on 146 from Runner Up Shane Byron on 148

In the Mixed Stableford, Christine Morrison found the conditions to her liking with a fine round of 37 points to take out the win from Runner Up Samuel Byron on 34 points.

We would like to thank Nathan and the team at Barry Maney Volkswagen for their ongoing sponsorship of this event, which continues to grow each year.

To Jake and the grounds crew and volunteers for providing great course conditions for the weekend, a big thank you!
