Pump tracks, a great idea for kids on school holidays!

Did you know that Queensland has some of the best pump tracks in Australia?

From Darra, Pizzey and the big build coming to Brisbane at Victoria Park - there are pump tracks big and small around the state.

For younger and older riders they are an ideal way to work on essential skills for all sorts of cycling. You'll learn balance and control in a fast-tracked environment, understanding how your positioning on your bike can impact how it rides - including getting some free speed and more grip. Beyond being a skill builder, they're great fun as well!

Here at BQ we do love a rail trail, quiet gravel road, separated bike path or a new bridge on a cycleway, but we love a pump track as well. Check out our beginner's guide to pump tracks if you want to get out and have some fun on this sort of cycling infrastructure.

PSA - just a reminder to have your Shimano cranks checked over. If in doubt, call us or drop in for an inspection.

Shimano Australia Cycling (“Shimano”), is currently offering an inspection and replacement program of selected bonded 11‐speed HOLLOWTECH II road cranksets produced between June 1, 2012, up to and including June 30, 2019, for a possible bonding separation issue.
This specifically concerns the Shimano ULTEGRA FC‐6800, DURA‐ACE FC‐9000, ULTEGRA FC‐R8000, DURA‐ACE FC‐R9100 and FC‐R9100‐P 11‐Speed Bonded HOLLOWTECH II Road Cranksets in Australia. Reports received by Shimano indicate that the bonded parts of the crank arm could separate and break, posing potential fall and crash hazards to consumers.
To remedy this situation, Shimano will have any applicable crankset inspected. Shimano will replace any crank arm that fails the inspection process.
This inspection is designed to determine whether the crank arms show a possible bonding separation issue and to swiftly remove any possible safety hazard to our consumers. Not all ULTEGRA and DURA‐ACE cranksets need to be inspected. Only cranksets produced between June 1, 2012, up to and including June 30, 2019, need to be inspected.
Shimano will replace any cranksets that fail the inspection process free of charge.
