Big day on the Sunshine Coast filming with Peter Clark from Coach Life! 🎥

Bringing over 20 years of playing and coaching experience to life through Play Awake.

We covered everything from the technical and tactical side of tennis, including return of serve, volley work and the four phases of play: Defence, Rally, Force and Attack, to the mental side of performance.

Confidence, overthinking, between-point routines, pre-match preparation and learning to trust yourself under pressure.

These are lessons I’ve been sharing with athletes for years. Now we’re bringing them into Play Awake Mind, helping performers train their mental game, prepare, reflect and reconnect with themselves.

Great collaborating with Peter and Coach Life. Excited to share what’s coming!

24 hours of silence.

No phone. No screens. No music. No podcasts. No distractions. 🤫

Just space to slow down, notice what was going on inside, and reconnect with life’s simple things.

What stood out most was how much noise we live with every day, often without even realising it.

LESS IS MORE 👇

Less stimulation. More clarity.
Less distraction. More presence.
Less noise. More connection.
Less doing. More being.
Less irritability. More stability.

Less expecting a situation to be what I want, need or think it should be. More accepting. More noticing. More allowing life to lead.

For elite performers, the instinct is often to keep adding: more training, more analysis, more information, more recovery tools, more input.

But performance isn’t only about what you add. It’s also about what you remove.

Less mental noise can mean clearer decisions, better emotional regulation, stronger focus and more capacity to respond under pressure.

Maybe the edge isn’t doing more.

Maybe it’s creating enough space to hear what you already know.

The Challenge:

Find 24 hours and try it for yourself.

Turn off the screens. Remove the unnecessary stimulation. Give yourself some space. Walk. Sit. Breathe. Notice.

❇️ 30 minutes of meditation
❇️ Thought release. Write freely and fill as many pages as you need
❇️ 15 minutes of visualisation
❇️ Write down 3 things you’re grateful for

Then see what’s there when the noise disappears.

You might be surprised by what you find. đź’š

Digital detox challenge. 📵

No phone. No computer. No TV.

A chance to quieten the noise, go inward and check back in with myself.

I’m moving through the P.A.V.E. process as part of it too. Ground. Notice. Create. Trust. 🌿

I’ll share what I notice on the other side.

Term 3 wrap 🔥

A little tennis. A lot of growth. Plenty of energy.

This term we explored more than forehands and backhands. Being present. Standing tall. Finding your voice. Trusting yourself.

I am strong. I am powerful. I am brave. I am a warrior.

Proud of these young people becoming more confident, more connected and more themselves, on and off the court. đź’š

I’ve noticed something interesting in myself lately.

I’ve been working on something I care deeply about, and as I get closer to putting it into more people’s hands, some old patterns start showing up.

Wanting to get it perfect.
Wondering if people are just being nice when they say they like it.
Feeling the urge to defend it before anyone has even criticised it.

Underneath that, I can see something very human:

Wanting to be accepted.

It’s a good reminder that pressure doesn’t only show up in sport. It shows up whenever we care about something and allow other people to see it.

The practice isn’t pretending those thoughts aren’t there.

It’s noticing them, questioning them, and still choosing how and if you want to show up.

Open. Curious. Trusting the work.
Willing to be vulnerable. 🌱

Imagine winning the US Open… and not realising you’d won.

I shared this story with my players today.

Alexander Zverev served out the US Open final against Ben Shelton and then walked back to the baseline ready to play the next point.

He hadn’t realised the match was over.

Last week with the players, we explored confidence and the power of the words we use about ourselves:

I am powerful.
I am strong.
I am a great player.

Today we took it somewhere different.

I AM HERE.

Sometimes the goal isn’t to think more, try harder or even feel more confident.

It’s to become completely immersed in what’s directly in front of you.

One ball.
One point.
Right here.

Then whatever happens, happens.

Presence before performance.

More isn’t always better.

More training. More information. More analysis.

I came across an article about Roger Federer recently that got me thinking about this.

Sometimes stepping away and doing the things you love gives you energy, enthusiasm and a stronger connection to life.

And you carry that back into how you train, work and perform.

Quality over quantity. Less is more.

Padel tournament journey off to a flying start. 🏆

A great day competing at La Palma Padel in Tuggerah. Really enjoyed playing the 35+ with my brother Ryan, and then teaming up with Rafa Rodriguez in the 45+ and getting the win.

One of the things I’m enjoying most about padel is exploring the similarities and differences with tennis.

The competitive instincts transfer. Reading the moment, handling pressure, finding solutions and trusting yourself when it matters.

But padel demands its own kind of patience. Knowing when to defend, when to use the walls, when to stay in the point and when the opportunity is there to attack.

Different game. A lot of familiar lessons.

And another opportunity to put the Play Awake tools to the test in competition. Presence, awareness, letting go and trusting yourself under pressure.

Great to share the experience with my brother Ryan, who enjoyed his first real taste of competitive padel, and with Rafa in the 45+.

Well done to Jussel and the team at La Palma Padel for putting on a great tournament. 👏

Plenty more to explore. And that’s half the fun.
