Sad news coming out from last weekend was the passing of 1996 Senior Premiership CHB, Brian Forte, lovingly known as Jed, Jedda.
Jed only was with up for a couple of years but he certainly left his mark.
He was tough and protective of his teammates. His relentless drive to win the ball never wavered. Neither did his respect for teammates and all of the Club.
He will be fondly remembered, respected and known for the two word cliche he formulated.
How could we ever forget ‘F..k Traf!’ Over n over again.

Our sincerest condolences to Karen and Jed’s family.

❤️💛🖤 SENDING OUR BEST TO GIL ❤️💛🖤

The Yallourn Yallourn North Football Netball Club sends our very best wishes to Gil Julin, who has recently been through a tough time following a nasty fall that resulted in a serious shoulder injury and surgery.

Unfortunately, Gil required further surgery after his shoulder popped out again, but we’re very pleased to share that Gil is now home and beginning his recovery. ❤️

Gil has been a true club stalwart over the years and continues to play an important role around our club, including his current work with the Past Players.

We’re thinking of you, Gil, and wishing you all the very best for your recovery. Take it easy, look after yourself, and we hope to see you back around the club soon! ❤️💛🖤

❤️💛🖤 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION ❤️💛🖤

With the season all wound up, we want to give a very special thank you to someone who has done so much to keep things running smoothly all year - Chris Sporton.

Chris has taken on many roles and jobs in her time at the club, and this year was no exception. From being Game Day Treasurer, helping with team sheets and PlayHQ on Thursday nights, to counting all Cent-a-Number cash and tickets, getting all the votes organised for the vote count and making sure there was a float ready for every event, she’s done it all! There was always plenty happening behind the scenes, and Chris was always there to help take the pressure off others and make sure everything ran as it should.

It’s not just the jobs Chris does herself that make such a difference. She’s always there to support and help other volunteers, whether that’s answering a question, lending a hand, or simply being someone they know they can rely on. Her willingness to share her time and knowledge makes volunteering a little easier for everyone around her.

It’s volunteers like Chris who remind us that our club is about more than football and netball. We are so incredibly lucky to have someone who gives so much of their time and energy to our club. Thank you Chris for being such an important part of our club family. We appreciate you more than you know!

A huge congratulations to our A Grade player & coach, Samira Heffernan, on being announced as a 15&U Co-Coach for the East Gippsland Netball Region’s 2027 State Titles campaign! 👏🏐

Samira is a fantastic asset to our club, both on and off the court, and we’re so proud to see her experience, knowledge and passion for developing young netballers recognised at a representative level.

From leading our A Grade team as player-coach to coaching junior netballers and working with Netball Victoria, Samira continues to give so much to the game she loves.

Congratulations Samira - a fantastic opportunity and one that is very well deserved! We can’t wait to see you take on this next challenge. 👏

🏐 2027 15&U COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

East Gippsland Netball Region is excited to announce Samira Heffernan as one of our 15&U Co-Coaches for the 2027 State Titles campaign! 💚💙

Samira brings plenty of coaching and playing experience to our Region. She is currently part of the GSA coaching team, coaches the 15&U squad at M&DNA, and is player-coach of the A Grade team at YYNFNC.

Samira is also a Community Coach with Netball Victoria, delivering coaching through Train Like a Vixen clinics and various school netball clinics.

We’re excited to have Samira joining our 15&U program and know our young athletes will benefit from her experience, enthusiasm and passion for developing junior netballers.

And as you may have noticed… Samira won’t be doing it alone! 👀

We are currently finalising the details of our second 15&U Co-Coach, with another announcement coming soon. Stay tuned!

TRIAL REQUIREMENTS

Players MUST attend a minimum of TWO of the THREE trials to be considered for selection.

If a player is injured and would like to be considered for selection, they must provide a brief written outline of their previous playing experience to the East Gippsland State Titles Officer before registrations close.

WHAT TO WEAR

• Black/dark shorts
• Plain white top
• Suitable netball shoes

🚫 No club colours or representative gear

All trials are outdoors, so please come prepared for the predicted weather and bring a drink bottle and a positive attitude.

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT

Successful teams will be announced via the East Gippsland Region page on 30 October 2026.

SELECTED ATHLETES

Players selected to represent East Gippsland Region are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions, pay all fees levied by the Region and commit to representing East Gippsland Region at the 2027 Netball Victoria State Titles in Bendigo, 6–8 March 2027.

We’re excited to welcome Samira to our 15&U program — and keep an eye out for the announcement of the other half of our 2027 15&U coaching team! 👀

🚀 A BIG THANK YOU! 🚀

We are incredibly grateful to have received funding through the Latrobe City Council Community Grants Program, which has allowed us to provide our netballers with brand-new seating! 🏐

The new seating is a fantastic addition to our netball facilities and will provide a much-needed space for our players, coaches, families and supporters on game day.

A huge thank you to Latrobe City Council for supporting our club and helping us continue to improve our facilities for our members and wider community.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Darcy Shellcot and Deb DeCarli for their support in making this project happen, and especially to Darcy for all his hard work in organising the new seating.
