Saturday 26th September is AFL Grand Final Day, and we’re kicking things off at Yallourn Golf Club with our Super 6s Pairs Competition!

Grab a partner, throw on your footy colours and get ready for a cracking day of golf before settling in for the Grand Final!

🟒 Holes 1–6 – BEST BALL
Both players play the hole normally, but only the better Stableford score from the pair counts.

🟑 Holes 7–12 – AGGREGATE
Both players' Stableford scores count and are added together.
3 points + 2 points = 5 team points.

πŸ”΄ Holes 13–18 – MULTIPLIER
Now things can get interesting! Your two Stableford scores are multiplied together.
3 Γ— 2 = 6 points
4 Γ— 3 = 12 points
But beware... 3 Γ— 0 = 0! 😬

VALE – NORMA HUTCHINSON

4 March 1936 – 10 September 2026

It is with great sadness that Yallourn Golf Club acknowledges the passing of Norma Hutchinson, a long-time member, wonderful friend and much-loved part of our Club community.

Norma passed away peacefully on Thursday, 10 September, aged 89, at Regis Capel Sound.

Norma and her life partner John shared a wonderful life together in Yallourn and Newborough, raising their family and becoming deeply involved in the sporting and community life of the Latrobe Valley.

Norma was involved with Yallourn Golf Club for many years, as well as tennis, Rotary, Probus and numerous other community organisations. Through these many connections, Norma and John formed cherished friendships that lasted a lifetime.

The Hutchinson family has a long and valued affiliation with Yallourn Golf Club, an association that continues today through the family's ongoing friendship and generous support of our Club.

Born in Yarragon to May and Norman Davey, Norma spent an incredible 86 years living in the Latrobe Valley before moving to aged care on the Mornington Peninsula to be closer to her sons. She worked at Baker and Gordon until her retirement in the mid-1990s and, together with John, was a passionate supporter and advocate for the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland.

Above all, Norma was a much-loved partner, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a treasured friend to many.

On behalf of the Committee, members and friends of Yallourn Golf Club, we extend our sincere condolences to John, Peter, Michael and the entire Hutchinson family at this very sad time.

We thank Norma for her friendship, the memories she leaves behind, and the contribution she made to our Club and the wider community over so many years.

Rest peacefully, Norma. You will always be fondly remembered at Yallourn Golf Club. πŸ•ŠοΈ

Dean tied for the September Monthly Medal and will face Brenton Ould in a playoff at the October Monthly Medal. If Dean gets the job done, that’s another 50 Race to the Green points heading his way β€” which could throw him straight back into the conversation! πŸ‘€

We don’t actually have a September Monthly Medal winner yet!

Dean Illingworth and Brenton Ould both fired excellent nett 68s, meaning the medal will be decided in a playoff during October’s Monthly Medal.

Both are B Graders, both shot 68, and apparently neither could just do the decent thing and let the other bloke win. πŸ˜‚

Today was also Round 2 of the E.V. Williams Trophy, with the final round to be played during October’s Monthly Medal.

On a more serious note, a huge congratulations to Yallourn Golf Club member Luke MacKay, who played his 200th senior game for Moe Lions Football Netball Club today in the Preliminary Final.

Unfortunately, Moe couldn’t get the win, but playing 200 senior games for your club is a fantastic achievement and something Luke should be extremely proud of.

Thommo played a blinding round to post an excellent 40 Stableford points, comfortably earning himself Player of the Day honours as well as the B Grade win. Great golf, Thommo! πŸ‘
