Motorcycle Learner & Provisional Licence Course Darwin & Palmerston Territory Motorcycle Training (TMT) provides road and off road motorbike training, licensing (Learner L Plate and Provisional P Plate licenses), serving Darwin and Palmerston, Northern Territory (NT).

What a fantastic day at our Motorcycle First Aid course over the weekend, in partnership with Territory Motorcycle Training and St John NT.

This was our second time running the course with simulated accident scenes, giving riders the opportunity to step into realistic scenarios and build confidence in what to do when every second counts.

We booked out at 40 spots this time, our biggest first aid course yet, and it was great to see such strong engagement right across the day. The NT riding community continues to show up for this kind of training and it makes a real difference.

A huge thank you to St John NT for their expert delivery and ongoing support, and to the Northern Territory Government for backing the course and fully subsidising riders to attend!

We know that interest greatly exceeded the number of places we had available. We hope to have a second course option up and running very soon!

Rain, mud and 85 women and girls came along to the International Women’s Day Come & Try moto event today, with over 100 people coming through the gates across the day to support the event.

International Women’s Day is about creating spaces where women and girls feel welcome to step forward and be supported by the community around them.

The smiles and muddy boots say it all. But it truly takes a community, and this event wouldn’t be possible without the huge efforts of so many people.

A huge thank you to Top End Motocross Club for the use of their facility, and to Glen and Melissa Holmes for all their hard work supporting the day.

Thank you to Darwin Motorcycle Club - DMCC for their ongoing support of women’s motorcycling initiatives in the Territory, and club members who came along to help out.

Thank you to Dean Groves for his mechanical magic preparing and maintaining the training fleet and logistical wizardry, and spending the day helping riders with setup advice and mechanical support.

Thank you to Gotts and Ingrid Blokhuis who continually supported riders on the track throughout the day, sharing awesome knowledge and encouragement.

But most of all, thank you to the 85 riders who showed up, embraced the muddy conditions, and made this our biggest International Women’s Day motorcycle event yet. The energy, enthusiasm and positive spirit made the day so worthwhile.

We’ve been running these International Women’s Day motorcycle events for several years now. Each year it continues to grow. It reinforces how important it is to create genuine spaces for women and girls, where we are supported to step forward.

Days like today are about celebrating the contributions of women and girls and continuing to shift the culture in a sport and industry that hasn’t always made that easy. That is the meaning of International Women’s Day.

Seeing 85 women and girls take part today, despite muddy conditions, shows just how powerful a supportive community can be.

Darwin’s International Women’s Day Come & Try Motorcycle event this Sunday! 💜

We’re looking forward to an incredible day celebrating women and girls in motorcycling at Campbell Park this Sunday from 10am – 2pm.

The event is going ahead rain or shine.
Dirt bikes don’t mind the rain. We also have a covered area, plenty of activities and BBQ throughout the day, and a great community atmosphere regardless of any rain.

No licence needed
Free bikes and safety gear provided
Adults and kids welcome
Community BBQ on the day
