BOMBER SERIES UPDATE & 2 PERSON AMBROSE 666’s

Attached is the updated leaderboard after Rnd 5 of the BOMBERS series.
The final round off the black tees will be played on Wednesday October 7th. It is a seeded draw so if you can’t play please let the pro shop know ASAP. Everyone who has played a round will be placed into the draw.
The provisional draw will be on the sheet in the next 24hrs.
Draw will be finalised 12pm Monday October 5th.

“SON OF ARTHRITIS” CLAIMS THE TRACKY PANTS CUP IN AN EPIC 5 WAY TIE

Yes Bruce Davies our resident “Son of Arthritis” (see picture 🤭) has prevailed with the Tracky Pants Cup in a 5 way count back, all tied on 39pts!

Jimmy McCully finished 5th with an amazing -6 66 off the stick from his +3 handicap but unfortunately double bogied the 17th after hitting one in the water off the tee then 3 putting🤦🏼‍♂️
Greame Way performed very well finishing in 4th. He really must have been inspired after his big🍻 session on Wednesday 😉
Greame Giggins braved the tough early conditions and not being able to see where he was hitting it (🤔might be something in that) to finish in third position.
Blair Mason secured the runner up position after having a nice family day out in the sun with Mum & Dad.

It was so good to see everyone in their “best or worst” tracky pants looking great. Well better than me after getting home from the Ski Club at midnight via a tour of Casanova’s house then working a 13hr day 🙄 A lot of fun was had, some different prizes on offer (which was just too difficult for some to work out 🙄). A huge thank you to Darren “Tracky Pants” McIntyre & Kristy “Mrs Tracky Pants” McIntyre for sponsoring the day.
It was very sad that the Mayor of Yea, Andrew Bohn couldn’t make it after the re-scheduling. Mayoral duties do take priority though I guess 😉
75 players took part in the competition today. Members & visitors alike enjoyed the beautiful winters day conditions and the opportunity to get their Tracky pants on! Check out some of the get ups and fun that was had in the vast array of photos taken and shared by all.

POSTPONED

The Tracky Pants Open has been postponed to Sunday Aug 23 (this Sunday).

The weather has won the battle and unfortunately they don’t sell waterproof Tracky Pants 🤭 and we need to do the event justice not with a field of 10 people

For those brave enough still wanting a hit normal comp will be on.

There is a crew heading to the white pub to have a b**r with Danny at 12.30pm anyone is welcome 🍻👍

TODAYS COMP - The Tracky Pants Open

We are currently in a holding pattern with the weather. Yes IT IS going to rain it’s just a matter of how much & when it hits.
It’s hard to make the right call on the weather with Captain Pugwash Philip Mccully away in Bali 🤭😂😂😂

Darren “Tracky Pants” McIntyre has made a huge effort to make the day happen & ensure everyone has a fun day, so we want to do the event justice.

We will see how the next hour or so plays out but if we get any more cancelations we will postpone The Tracky Pants Open to this Sunday Aug 23 and just have a standard comp for those wanting to brave the weather.

I think there is more chance of a group quaddie at the white pub accompanied by 12 schooners than there is of playing 18 holes personally 🤭

A list will be placed on the notice board in coming days with the associated cost & further details. People will need to pre pay prior to the day with Darren or myself (cash preferred). This will just make it easier on the day.

PROPERTY DAMAGE, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

These pictures are of yet another damaged bunker on the 4th hole of Black Bull Golf Course Judging by the size of footprints & nature of the damage it appears to have been caused by young children.

Paying patrons, members & particularly course staff have had enough. Please have some respect for other people’s property, watch your children, know where your children are and educate them with some old fashioned values particularly on wrong & right!

The golf course is NOT A PLAYGROUND! It is private property, a place of business and a work place.

There is a cost & consequence to this infuriating unnecessary damage.

It takes course staff man hours to repair and it costs the BBGC revenue in multiple ways;
1. green fee players complain about condition of bunkers don’t come back to visit us.
2. They stop half way and want a refund.
3. Don’t purchase food, drinks or merchandise after round because they leave early in frustration.
4. Tell friends not to play our course because of condition.
5. Negative social media etc..

At the end of the day it is illegal behaviour in the form of trespass, vandalism & criminal damage as the offenders are on private property without consent and have wilfully & recklessly caused property damage. All have serious penalties associated with them.

“GREAT SCHOTT” AND MORGAN FIRES TOO

Andrew Morgan & Sally Schott have taken out this years American Foursomes in convincing style, or was it 🤔

On paper it appears as though it was an easy 3 shot victory, however if it wasn’t for a scorecard error from Gabe Balazs & Chips McMennemin it only would have been half a shot. The reason we sign a scorecard or confirm & sign the screen on mi-score (either way you sign for a score) is that you are acknowledging that the score you are submitting is true & correct. So if it’s wrong because you haven’t checked it and assumed it was correct then signed it when it’s wrong, that’s on you. Your submitted score is your responsibility!

Enough of the technicalities, American Foursomes format is a whole lot of fun where you & your partner tee off, you then swap over, you hit their tee shot they hit yours. From here you choose the best ball in play and play alternate shot until the ball is holed.

The scoring was incredibly competitive except for one team who blamed their poor caddy Arthur. Feedback from all participants was incredibly positive and I can’t thank you all enough. Everyone had a great day and it’s so good having everyone in the clubhouse/shop together 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

There were several suggestions about having more events of this nature which is fantastic and I do take it on board. I just ask that people consider how many of these type of events we do actually now have especially compared to 3 or 4 years ago. The small window of opportunity we have to hold these events when it’s not so busy and our inability to have them when we have more visitors than members in our comp fields. Visitors wanting to visit our course to play comps won’t come if it’s a “team event”, so we need to be accommodating for all.
Getting groups off the tenth tee so that we all finish together in a closer window and get presentations done quicker, I will endeavour to do this as often as possible but again it can only be done when there is both a gap in the field to use the 10th tee and also a gap in the afternoon to crossover onto the first tee.

CAR PARK INCIDENT

Just to update everyone that witnessed or heard about the accident that occurred this morning in the car park, the lady involved was not seriously injured. She was taken to Shepparton hospital suffering from shock and to be checked over.
