The fields are prepared, the track is marked, the long jump pit is ready, shade is available and we are ready for South’s first meet of the 2026-27 season TOMORROW - 8.30am on Saturday, 5 September! 🎉

We look forward to welcoming all returning and new athletes - we hope you all have lots of fun! :-)

Please park in the carpark accessed via Gate 1 on Villa St, and take the stairs up to building T for our pre-meet briefing which will start promptly at 8:30am (see the photos for the stairs and building you're looking for - NOT the building next to the long jump pit).

It's going to be a warm day so please remember water, cool clothes, hats and sunscreen.

🎉👟 Souths is super proud to be chosen by Little Athletics Queensland to host an Introduction to Officiating Workshop (IOW) for parents and volunteers from Souths and other clubs in our region! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 👟🎉

Please mark Saturday, 17 October in your calendars for our FREE IOW workshop at Souths Little Athletics 🙌

This is for everyone who has ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to make our weekly meets run smoothly 🤔

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, volunteer, or simply keen to learn more, this workshop is a fantastic opportunity to learn the basics of officiating and build your confidence in helping out at competitions. 🏅📏⏱️

No experience? No problem! 😊 These sessions are designed to be fun, friendly and informative, giving you the skills and knowledge to get involved and support our athletes.

Every official plays an important role in creating a positive experience for our young athletes, and we'd love to see more Souths families get involved. 💗❤️💜

With our first Souths Little Athletics meet coming up on Saturday 5 September, we're sharing the super helpful series of Little Athletics Queensland's "Get Involved" videos to help our families learn more about each what's involved in officiating field events.

Whether you're brand new to Little Athletics or just need a refresher, this short video explains the basics of what's involved in throwing events and provides helpful tips for both athletes and parents.

With our first meet of the 2026-27 season - Saturday, 5 September - just 8 sleeps away, we're busy behind the scenes planning an awesome first competition day for all our athletes, but we need your help! 😊

✅ If you're planning to join for the 2026-27 season and haven't registered yet, we'd love it if you can please JUMP online and complete your registration as soon as possible.

🎪✨ A HUGE thank you to the Yeronga State School P&C ✨🎪

What an absolutely fantastic day at the Yeronga State School Fete on Saturday! 🥳🎉

A big thank you to the P&C for inviting Souths to be part of such an amazing community event. 💙💛 We loved meeting many enthusiastic future athletes and their families, sharing information about Little Athletics, and catching up with lots of our returning Souths superstars! ⭐🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Our team was kept busy all day chatting with families and helping energetic youngsters jump, run, play and test out some of the athletics equipment we had on display.

Great to catch up with Mark Bailey MP and his team too!

🤸‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎯 Because we were having so much fun, we forgot to take many photos, but we hope you enjoy the few we managed to snap! 📸😁

We're also incredibly grateful to Club Yeronga for the wonderful new marquee they recently funded for us. ⛺💖 It looked fantastic and helped us create a welcoming space for everyone who stopped by.

Now the countdown is on! ⏰🎉 We're so excited to welcome athletes and families to our first meet of the season on Saturday, 5 September! 🏅🌟
