A brief but wholesome WILD trip to New Zealand for the Tarawera Ultra 23km last weekend. Lush forest, sloppy mud for kms, and memories to last a lifetime. πŸƒπŸŒΏπŸŒ±

Birthdays must always be celebrated with a run, or a workout (involving burpees). Obviously... happy birthday, Col!

This RW Run Club crew has been the quiet constant that’s held my life together through all seasons. It’s been the tough runs where we dug deep, the easy runs where conversation mattered more than pace, and the unspoken support that comes from moving side by side.

It’s coffee catch-ups that turned into check-ins, beach dips that washed the week away, and a community that showed up even when life felt heavy.

More than a running club, it’s a reminder that progress, healing, and joy are often found in shared miles and simple moments. It's not always about how fast-paced the runs are; more often it's about slowing down and enjoying the process. πŸ’™

Oh, hello πŸ‘‹πŸ½ it's been a while. Maybe, a little too long. We've been [literally] running quietly in the background for the past year.

From knee operations to life-altering chapters, it's been a wild ride to say the least. But the little pop-up sesh this morning brought back A LOT of nostalgia - and I can feel a comeback in the making. 😁

I'm ready for 2026 to come. Bring it! πŸ‘ŠπŸ½

Now that I've caught up on some sleep since the Relay For Life πŸ’€ I better make it official! The Running Wild Fitness crew hustled hard to run, walk and hobble our way around the 400m track for 24 hours straight to raise funds for Cancer Council, and honour John's memory πŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ Thank you to everyone who has donated to this great cause!

We clocked up 4️⃣0️⃣7️⃣ team laps (which equates to 163kms!!!) and have currently raised $4,447!!! 🀩 I may be biased, but I think we had the best damn crew out there on the field πŸ₯° I honestly couldn't have done this without each and every one of them.

(🍷Although the event may be over, we still have 2️⃣ wine raffles up for grabs [valued at $400 each] in an effort to boost our total fundraising. Tickets are $5 each! Send me a message to grab yours. We will be drawing the raffle this Friday 31st October, so don't miss out!)

Bring on next year!

πŸ’œπŸ’› CANCER COUNCIL RELAY FOR LIFE
(25th-26th October 2025)
Hey guys, I'm participating in the Cancer Council WA Relay For Life again this year to help raise funds for Cancer Council, and I would love your help to participate in my team Running Wild Fitness.

Sadly, my stepdad was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and I can't just sit back and do nothing. I'm here to step up and fight with him!

If you've never heard of the Relay for Life, it basically involves our team relay baton being continually passed around a 400m track for 24-hours. This takes place at Arena Joondalup from 10am on Saturday October 25th until 10am Sunday October 26th.

Walk or run as many or as little laps as you wish. It's a great event with plenty of entertainment throughout the day. Come and socialise, or clock up some km's for a fitness challenge. We managed to raise over $4,000 last time, and this year I am setting a goal of $5,000.

The late-night graveyard shifts are always the most difficult to cover, so if you are a night owl, your participation would be greatly appreciated! 24-hours is a long time, so the more people involved, the better!

I'm not only looking for teammates, prize donations for raffles, and perhaps some warm food deliveries for the later hours, but if you have a marquee I could borrow, or would love to donate to our team, then any or all of the above are a huge help!

CANCER COUNCIL 24-HOUR RELAY FOR LIFE [October 25th-26th]

Most of us, if not all, have lost someone very special to cancer. Loved ones, friends, family, or colleagues. This is a day we come together to remember those we have lost, praise those who have survived, and lift those who are fighting.

Back in 2022, we participated in the Cancer Council 24-hour Relay For Life West Coast, and we're back again for 2025. If cancer doesn't sleep, then neither will we!

As a team we raised over $4,000 for cancer research, and completed 453 team laps (a whopping 181km!) in 24-hours. We are looking to raise over $5,000 this year and we need your help.

More details to follow in the coming months, but here's how you can help:

πŸ’› Donate prizes for our raffle (drawn in October)
πŸ’œ Contribute to our fundraiser page
πŸ’› Join our team (and participate!)
πŸ’œ Pitch a tent and help us get through the graveyard shifts
πŸ’› Bring us hot food, or entertain us when the going gets tough

We will be running internal competitions on the day, personal challenges to complete (if you're feeling competitive, or just love chasing a fitness goal), and there is various entertainment throughout the day.

We'll have an allocated site on the relay oval for the 24 hours, and free breaky is offered for all participants in the morning. The aim is that we have a minimum of one walker / runner on the field at all times, carrying the team baton and counting laps towards our team total.

This is a tough challenge (especially for those of us who will be 'running' on minimal sleep), but it's bloody worth it for the cause!! I'm doing this in memory of my late stepdad who lost his battle many many years ago, and in the fight for my stepdad who was recently diagnosed. F*** cancer!!

Thanks xx
