Today we’re celebrating the man behind One Happy Kayak! 🌴

If you’ve ever been out to Sea Glass Island with Ericko, you probably know how much he genuinely loves what he does. Whether it’s helping someone into a kayak for the very first time, sharing his favorite spots on the island, spotting a special piece of sea glass before anyone else does 👀, or simply making everyone laugh along the way: he puts his heart into every tour.

What started with a few kayaks and an idea has turned into so many adventures, thousands of treasures found, and most importantly, so many wonderful people from all over the world that we’ve had the chance to meet. Some have even come back year after year and become friends. ❤️

Alex brings so much dedication, passion and positive energy to One Happy Kayak. Whether he’s helping someone find that extra-special piece of sea glass, making our guests laugh, or simply making sure everyone feels comfortable and has an amazing time, he always gives it his all. 🌴

And trust us… we really do appreciate everything he does! 💙

We even asked if he wanted to take his birthday off…

It's not the sea glass.

It's seeing someone find their very first piece...
Watching kids get excited over a marble...
Hearing someone say, "This was the highlight of our Aruba vacation."

The truth is... after spending countless hours on Sea Glass Island over the years, Ericko has trained his eyes to notice treasures that most people would walk right past.

And yes... he still gets just as excited every time he finds a rare piece. 😊

He has no idea we're posting this.

If you've ever joined one of Ericko's tours, you probably know that it's about so much more than just kayaking.

It's about the stories shared on the water, the laughter, the hidden treasures, the local history, the friendships that have been made, and the memories that stay with you long after your vacation ends.

Earlier this week, Ericko spotted this incredible piece of deep red sea glass hidden among thousands of others. ❤️

It's moments like these that remind us why no two tours are ever the same. Every tide brings new surprises, and every visit to Sea Glass Island is a little different.

You never know what treasure is waiting to be discovered... maybe the next incredible find will be yours. 😊🛶

Some treasures don't become sea glass... they survive. 💚

Most bottles eventually break apart and become the beautiful sea glass scattered across the island.

But every once in a while, one survives the journey.

Imagine where this little bottle has been... Who held it? How old is it? And what was it originally used for?

Some finds are so rare... you only see them once in a lifetime.

Last week, one of our youngest treasure hunters made an incredible discovery on Sea Glass Island...

An almost perfectly intact vintage Clorox bottle!

After carefully uncovering it from the rocks, he proudly carried it back and then did something incredibly sweet...

❤️ He turned to Ericko and said:

"You can have it."

What an amazing gesture. Thank you for trusting Ericko with such a special piece of history. It will definitely have a special place in our collection!

Moments like these remind us that our tours aren't just about finding sea glass—they're about making memories, sharing adventures, and sometimes discovering treasures you never expected. 🛶💎
