National Decree on Service Activities Now in Effect for Aruba Free Zone

Free Zone Aruba announces that the National Decree on Service Activities, published by the Government of Aruba, has officially entered into force. The Decree authorizes a broad range of innovative and knowledge-based service activities to operate within the Aruba Free Zone as of 1 January 2026.

This new legislation expands the scope of permitted activities beyond traditional trading and manufacturing, positioning the Aruba Free Zone as a platform for companies delivering global, high-value services. The Decree aims to attract new sectors that are currently limited or not yet present in Aruba, supporting economic diversification and strengthening services as an additional economic pillar.

Permitted service activities are grouped into eight core sectors:
✅ Image and audio technology
✅ Aviation and maritime navigation
✅ Other engineering services
✅ Support for postal services
✅ Information, communication, and art
✅ Securities trading
✅ Professional, scientific, and technical activities
✅ Human health and social work

By enabling these activities, the Aruba Free Zone enhances its role as a hub for innovation, international business solutions, and sustainable economic growth, while safeguarding Aruba’s existing tax base.

Free Zone Aruba N.V. Launches New Modern Website to Enhance Communication and Streamline Operations

Oranjestad, Aruba — Free Zone Aruba N.V. (FZA) is pleased to announce the official launch of its newly redesigned website, marking a major milestone in the organization’s digital transformation efforts.

After many years without a comprehensive update, FZA’s internal team, in close collaboration with CaribMedia’s project team, developed and executed a strategic plan to completely revamp the website. The result is a modern, user-friendly platform that meets today’s digital standards and provides easy access to accurate, up-to-date, and relevant information about Aruba’s Free Zone.

The new website features an intuitive structure and improved navigation, making it practical and accessible for a wide range of users, including investors, partners, stakeholders, and the general public seeking information about Free Zone Aruba and its services.

As in the previous website, the new platform also features a secure client login area for Free Zone companies. This dedicated portal allows companies to communicate directly with FZA and digitally submit required reports, contributing to more efficient, streamlined, and transparent operations.

Free Zone Aruba N.V. Announces the Retirement of Beloved Colleague Betty Heyliger

Oranjestad, Aruba – Free Zone Aruba N.V. proudly announces the retirement of our esteemed colleague, Mrs. Betty Heyliger, after an outstanding career spanning more than 33 years in public service and business development.

Betty began her professional journey in 1992 at Directie Posterijen, later joining Directie Personeel en Organisatie (DPO) in 1994. On September 1, 1997, she embraced a new challenge as one of the founding team members of the newly formed Free Zone Aruba N.V., taking on the role of Account Executive. Over the next 28 years, she played a pivotal role in shaping the growth and success of our organization.

Her professionalism, integrity, and great dedication have left an indelible mark not only on Free Zone Aruba N.V. but also on the many colleagues, clients, and partners who had the pleasure of working alongside her. Betty’s commitment to excellence and her warm, collaborative spirit have made her a trusted professional and a cherished friend to many.

July 31st, 2025, was her last work day at Free Zone Aruba N.V. As Betty embarks on this exciting new chapter, the management and staff extend their heartfelt gratitude for her remarkable service. We wish her a retirement filled with joy, health, and fulfillment. Betty will enjoy her well-deserved pension, knowing she has made a lasting difference in our organization and community. On August 5th, we organized a farewell lunch and celebration for Betty with colleagues and ex-colleagues, honoring her contributions and sharing fond memories of her time with us. While we will miss her presence deeply, her legacy will continue to inspire us.

Colleagues, customers, and key partners will surely miss Betty’s dedication, professionalism, and kindness, as she has been an integral part of our story, and we are grateful for all she has done.

Our new address will be Nieuwstraat 11 (diagonally opposite Djispie's Place in the main street).
We have attached its location.

Due to ongoing work with the renovation, our new office will not be accessible to visitors for the first 2 weeks of July.
So, please note that our office is therefore closed from July 1 to July 14. We apologize for any inconvenience.

However, we will remain reachable, and if a meeting is required, we will try to arrange an alternative meeting place during this period.
