I’ve been playing Ultimate since 2023. I’ve tried many sports over the years, but Ultimate has become my favorite — it demands high endurance, especially when played 7 vs 7 on a full-sized football field.
What I love most is the creativity in the game — with over 100 types of throws, there’s always something new to learn and try. 🌀
In the MENA region, there aren’t many tournaments to compete in, so the MENA Ultimate Championship is a rare and exciting opportunity. It allows us to face experienced teams, develop new skills, and grow as athletes.
This year, the championship will be hosted in Azerbaijan — a country most of us have never visited. It’s more than just a competition; it’s a chance to connect with new people, explore a different culture, and represent our community on a bigger stage.
I’m a doctor, and Ultimate is the hobby I enjoy in my free time. One of my biggest dreams is to become an Olympic champion. I hope that one day, Ultimate will be part of the Olympics, and I’ll have the chance to play with a national team and win a medal.

Nael’s Road Back to MENA: Representing Palestine with Passion 🇵🇸🥏

I’m Nael Awwad, a 24-year-old Ultimate Frisbee player from Palestine. The last time I played at the MENA Ultimate Club Championship tournament was in 2021, and I’ve been eager to return ever since.
This year, I’m thrilled to join the Amman Citadel team from Jordan as we head to Azerbaijan for the tournament! 🌍
The journey won’t be easy — traveling from Palestine to Jordan, and then on to Azerbaijan, comes with its challenges. But the chance to represent my community, compete at a high level, and share the spirit of Ultimate across borders makes it all worth it.
