With the blessing of the man himself Chris Won Taloa, we will be having the inaugural and official
DK WARS BARBADOS!!!! This summer, to be exact, Saturday, the 18th of August 2012 we will be 'snapping' out this event. This will give you guys enough time to sharpen your DK skills on both lefts and rights. So this is how its gonna happen:
- On Saturday, August 18th 2012, wave permitting,
we will me at a break, which will be decided by all of us riders a few days before the contest depending on the swell. Default break is "SOUP BOWL". If no swell on this day we will hold it the following Saturday the 25th.
- Check in time is from 7am - 9am.
- Entry fee is BDS$40/US$20, with a 'free' DK WARS t shirt included. We will also have a BDS$10/US$5 Prone Wars pot on the side for guys/gals that wanna do it. NOTE: You will not receive a t shirt if you just enter for prone, but you can purchase a tee and that money will go in the DK Wars Prize money. "IT'S ALL ABOUT DK"
- We will start officially at 9:00 and end the contest at 4:00pm.
- If you don't know how DK WARS runs,there will be no heat format like regular contest, its free surfing. The winner of the event will be the person who ripped the best the whole day.
- We will meet at a location afterwards (not confirmed yet but in the process) at 7:00pm to look at the footage of the day and we as a while will decide who is going to take home the MONEY!! At this same Location we will have what we call a "lil" after party, Action!!, Fun times!!. A round of drinks will be on the winner, hahahaahaha. There will be no profit made from this event! All the money pooled minus the cost of the t-shirts will be given to the winner. There will be extra prizes for best move and best wave compliments IRIE ONE and UNEASY RIDERS. We are also looking out for other sponsorship so we can have a crackalacking time! If you know of sponsors or are willing to sponsor this event please feel free to send a message
We already have photographers for the event, but all photographers willing to take photos for this event will receive a free 't-shirt' and will be 'fed' on the day. Anyone living in any other part of the world that would be interested in coming to this event, please send a message to this page. We can hook you up with a place to stay or find you the best cheapest place for you. Also, this day is for us the Bodyboarders, so any ideas you guys come up with about the event just send a message and we will discuss them.
