Not everyone's idea of a WW2 aircraft carrier!
HMS Nairana started out in a Clydeside shipyard as a merchant vessel, but was converted and launched as an aircraft carrier in 1941, with Sea Hurricanes. Post-war, it was transferred to the Royal Dutch Navy as the Karel Doorman.🇳🇱

Operating under the motto "First In, Last Out," these legendary crews played the ultimate game of chicken—deliberately flying into enemy radar range to bait surface-to-air missile (SAM) sites, tracking their signals, and destroying them to pave a safe path for follow-on strike teams.
Note the "WW" tail code on this McDonnell Douglas Phantom II, the proud badge of honor for the lethal Wild Weasels.
