I've always been one of a few in the crowd supporting Spain, no matter what.
Ever since I started watching football, Spain has been my team. It was never just about the results. I've always had a soft corner for everything Spain represents. The culture, the people, the language, and of course, the football.
In this World Cup, I made peace with one thing. Even if Spain didn't win, I'd still be proud because I was supporting a country I genuinely admire. But after watching every match they played, I had a feeling they deserved far more recognition than they were getting.
Throughout the world cup, I found myself in countless discussions, trying to explain how beautifully Spain were playing. Most people didn't even want to see what I saw. Today, many of those same people finally witnessed what I had been talking about all along.
It feels rewarding to see Spain finally earn the recognition they deserve. More than that, it feels so good to support a team that plays the game with skill, passion, and respect.
I'm proud to stand behind such incredible team that earned every bit of this success.
