Every lifelong martial arts journey begins with a simple spark. For Zakir Sensei, that spark was watching his older brother practice. Inspired by that early fascination, he stepped onto the tatami in December 1992, beginning a lifelong dedication to Shotokan Karate under the careful guidance of Shihan Mitsuo Yoshida.

The dedication paid off quickly. By 1995, he had earned his 1st Dan from the Bengal School of Shotokan. By 1997, he was a National Champion. 🥇

Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, Zakir Sensei and his teammates from the Titas Gas Team completely dominated the Team Kata events across five different National Championships and the 7th Bangladesh Games. 🇧🇩

But he wasn't just a Kata specialist, he was a fierce competitor in Kumite, taking Gold in the -70kg Kumite division at the 2004 National Championships and later carrying that success to the 5th International Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Championship in India in 2010.

Today, Sensei holds a 5th Dan from the Bangladesh Karate Federation and a 4th Dan from the Japan Karate Association.

His life's work is found in teaching, mentoring, and humbly spreading the art and philosophy of Shotokan to the next generation. 🌱

Karate Do Spirit is the living continuation of Zakir Sensei's journey. Through his lived example, the true spirit of Karate continues to thrive! ✨

We are happy to share our updated training schedule. To make it easier for our students to practice, we have added new afternoon slots for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Insha'Allah, training will follow this new schedule starting July 2nd.
