Bangladesh champions Bashundhara Kings have completed the appointment of Mario Gómez (68) as their new head coach.
The Argentine tactician brings a world-class resume, having served as an assistant at Inter Milan and Valencia and guided Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) to the 2015 AFC Cup title along with multiple Malaysian league and cup trophies.
Gómez is set to take charge ahead of the new season as the Kings push for domestic dominance and a stronger run in AFC competitions.

🚨 Fighter Plane Crash at Milestone College, Dhaka, Bangladesh
On July 21, 2025, a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into the Milestone College campus in Uttara, Dhaka. The incident occurred around 1:18 PM local time, during a routine training mission.
At least 20+ individuals, including students and staff, lost their lives and over 100 others sustained injuries, many with severe burns. Emergency response teams acted swiftly to control the situation and provide medical assistance to the victims. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
Our hearts go out to the families affected by this sudden loss. The community is in deep shock and mourning this unimaginable tragedy.
We, the South Asian football community, stand united in grief and solidarity. We mourn alongside all those impacted by this heartbreaking event.
