• Proper arrangements were made for players’ drinking water and seating on the field
• Meal allowances and travel expenses were provided directly to individuals, and hotel arrangements were satisfactory
• Certificates were distributed to participants
• The stage setup and overall event management were very good
• Providing Man of the Match crests in every match was highly appreciated
• Separate seating (pavilion/pandal) arrangements for players were well organized
• Prize money for both Champion and Runner-up teams was a positive initiative

• Allow each team to include up to 3 external players
• Increase the number of volunteers
• Place more focus on referee development
• Ensure each team is accompanied by a coach
• Provide washroom facilities near the field
• Further strengthen the tournament by-laws
• Ensure camera setup from all four sides of the field
• Include rugby in the programs of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP)
• Ensure the host team receives equal opportunities and facilities as other teams

The meeting highlighted key strengths of the tournament while identifying important areas for improvement. The recommendations aim to ensure a more organized, development and internationally standard rugby tournament in the future.

The Independence Day Rugby Sevens Championship 2026, organized by the Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union, concluded successfully today at 4:00 PM following a day-long series of exciting matches.

In the competition:
🔹 In the men’s category, Bangladesh Army emerged as champions, while SR Rugby Club finished as runners-up.
🔹 In the women’s category, Bangladesh Ansar claimed the championship title, with SR Rugby Club as runners-up.

In individual performances, Anwaruzzaman of Bangladesh Army was awarded Best Player in the men’s category, while Mohsina Lata of Bangladesh Ansar earned the Best Player award in the women’s category.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Director of Sports of the National Sports Council, Mr. Aminul Ahsan, as the Chief Guest. He presented trophies and medals to the champion and runner-up teams of both categories.

Among others present were the President of the Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union, Mr. Abdullah Al Zahir Swapan; Vice Presidents Mr. Anis Uz Zaman and Mr. Abu Mohammad Sajjad; General Secretary Mr. Aktar Uz Zaman; Members Mr. Sarwar Rakib, Mr. Ferdous Alam, Mr. Ashraf Uddin Ahmed; Tournament Committee Secretary Mr. Sirajul Islam; Lt. Colonel Almgir Kabir of Bangladesh Army; and Circle Adjutant Zahidul Islam of Bangladesh Ansar VDP, along with other federation officials.

The Programme was hosted by Media Manager Al Imran.

প্রতিযোগিতায়:
🔹 পুরুষ বিভাগে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী এবং রানারআপ হয়েছে এস আর রাগবি ক্লাব।
🔹 নারী বিভাগে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে বাংলাদেশ আনছার এবং রানারআপ হয়েছে এস আর রাগবি ক্লাব।

ব্যক্তিগত নৈপুণ্যে পুরুষ বিভাগে সেরা খেলোয়াড় নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর আনোয়ারুজ্জামান এবং নারী বিভাগে সেরা খেলোয়াড় হয়েছেন বাংলাদেশ আনছারের মোহসিনা লতা।

সমাপনী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদ-এর ক্রীড়া পরিচালক জনাব আমিনুল এহসান। তিনি নারী ও পুরুষ বিভাগের চ্যাম্পিয়ন ও রানারআপ দলের হাতে ট্রফি ও মেডেল তুলে দেন।

এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন বাংলাদেশ রাগবি ফেডারেশন ইউনিয়নের সভাপতি জনাব আব্দুল্লাহ আল জহির স্বপন, সহ-সভাপতি আনিস উজ জামান ও আবু মোহাম্মদ সাজ্জাদ, সাধারণ সম্পাদক আক্তার উজ জামান, সদস্য সরোয়ার রাকিব, ফেরদৌস আলম, আশরাফ উদ্দিন আহম্মেদ, টুর্নামেন্ট কমিটির সম্পাদক সিরাজুল ইসলাম, বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল আলমগীর কবির, বাংলাদেশ আনছার ভিডিপির সার্কেল অ্যাডজুটান্ট জাহিদুল ইসলামসহ ফেডারেশনের অন্যান্য কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ।

অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন মিডিয়া ম্যানেজার আল ইমরান।

বাংলাদেশ রাগবি ফেডারেশন ইউনিয়নের পক্ষ থেকে সকলকে পবিত্র ঈদুল ফিতরের আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা।

The BRFU L1 Rugby Training Course 2026 officially kicked off today at the auditorium of M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium & Paltan outer Stadium with 22 trainees in attendance.

The first day was engaging and productive, focused on learning, skill development, and strengthening the foundation of rugby coaching and refereeing in Bangladesh.
