An incredible achievement for a team made up entirely of passionate amateur players, proving once again that dedication, teamwork, and love for the game can lead to great success! Always a proud moment for the club ! 💪 🙌

A Spectacular Weekend for Friends United Cricket Club!

Friends United Cricket Club delivered an unforgettable weekend of cricket, securing back-to-back wins in style! The team dominated their first match, comfortably defeating Rainbow CC by 7 wickets, and followed it up with a nerve-wracking 2-wicket victory against Electrifying Blues.

What makes these wins truly special is the spirit behind them— a squad of school friends who have never played professional cricket but continue to prove that passion, teamwork, and friendship can triumph over experience. This is exactly why “Friends United” was formed—a team built on lifelong bonds, forged in the same school and year.

Match 1: Friends United vs. Rainbow CC

After winning the toss, Friends United put Rainbow CC to bat. The opposition came out swinging, but our seasoned campaigner Faysal turned the tide with a stunning spell, taking four quick wickets. He was brilliantly backed by seamers Samiur, Shebab, Sakib, and Roni, restricting Rainbow CC to a challenging yet gettable total.

The chase was all about composure and firepower. Ishfaque anchored the innings with a classy, unbeaten 45, while Aldin stole the show with a blistering 50. Faysal continued his all-round brilliance, hammering 45 off just 24 balls. Just when the game needed a finishing touch, Saif stepped up, smashing 21 off just 7 deliveries, sealing the victory in spectacular fashion with a six!

Match 2: A Nail-Biting Thriller!

The second match, played earlier today, was nothing short of a heart-stopper! Once again, Aldin and Faysal led from the front with sensational performances. In one of the most dramatic finishes in Friends United history, the team clinched victory by running two byes off the final delivery—securing an epic win in true last-ball thriller fashion!

Friends United: 8 Seasons Strong in LMS! 🏏🔥

The journey continues! Friends United have kicked off their LMS campaign this season, marking an incredible 8th consecutive year in this exciting format of cricket.

With two matches played so far, it’s been a great outing for the team, showcasing skill, passion, and determination. Though results haven’t gone our way just yet, the fight and spirit remain high as we push forward.

Here are some scorecards and snapshots from the matches.

For the second year in a row, Friends United exited the LMS tournament after finishing second in the bowl semi-final match. Despite the loss, the team would like to recognize the standout performances by its founding members — Ehsan, Sakib, Samiur, and Ishfaque — who earned Man of the Match awards throughout the season. A special mention goes to Faysal, who excelled with both bat and ball throughout the tournament and nearly took the team to the finals with an incredible 74-run knock off just 40 balls.

As always, this team, formed by a group of school friends, remains committed to playing, performing, and cherishing the game of cricket with the blessings of Almighty Allah!
